Cars have disappeared again on the drive and there's no sign of the white-out ending. Kids winding each other up about the snowday they want again tomorrow. Atleast as I'm an advisory teacher, the schools I'm due to visit are usually closed too so it's not too hard for me to stay home with the kids if necessary.

It's snowing quite quickly here :D

Heres to hoping for another snow day - I don't think I'll go in if it's like this tomorrow, even if school is open, because it was the same last week and only a few people came in they sent the rest of us home!

Hi Everyone

Here on the coast of Morecambe Bay we had our first taste of winter snow today.

For 3/4 of an hour the snow came and covered the grass but only just... WOW!!!

Then it melted away, shame the children can not play in it.

The hens were not impressed with the white lawn, all came in to the Henian Castle

and took it in turns under the heat lamps.

Then went over to their feeders for something to eat and drink.

Best regards to all

Ian & Valerie

We were snowed in on Thurs and Fri, no one in a normal car could get out of the village, we got out yesterday and managed to do some shopping (at petrol stations as the Tesco car park was packed and tretcherous!) but are stuck in again today because of the ice on the roads where the cars slushed it up yesterday

I feel like I live in the middle of nowhere instead of half a mile from a main road!

The snow isn't melting - we have tons of the stuff!

Hi Redwing

Where abouts is Astcote, we are at the northern end of Northamptonshire on the Rutland Northamptonshire border, we are about a mile and a half to the main road, I haven't been out in my normal car since Wednesday, it has started to snow again here.

I am getting fed up of the snow now, I don't want any more :D:(:D:(

We have had quite a bit of snow, big flakes too, but it took ages to settle as it was too wet so it hasn't added too much. Mind you, our road is still icy and has been since Monday so it's not going to be much fun tomorrow. My mobility scooter isn't coping well with the icy pavements, i'm struggling just to get up the slight slope of flat kerbs.

Astcote is down by Towcester, its a beautiful spot but useless in the snow! I have resigned myself to the fact that I have loads of holiday to use before the end of the month so might as well use it now :D I don't want any more snow either!

I would like to say i am being sensible but unfortunately i'm trying my hardest to see how long i can skid for. On Friday i was turning the wheel and going in a straight line for ages and i have successfully managed a "handbrake turn". I get some amused looks from passers-by :shameonu:

We had heavy snow falling mid-afternoon yesterday but it only really settled where there was lying snow. It is raining steadily here at the moment and we are forecast for heavy rain and gales turing to drifting snow overnight. Tomorrow morning will be a listen to the radio for school closures morning again I think. This is a real pain when you have 3 seperate schools to listen out for.
