Quite a blizzard blowing now in east warwickshire, have to say the forecasters have been very accurate the past few days. They said it would start at about 8pm, and we noticed it just as Dr Who was finishing at 7.45. Kids wittering on about tomorrow's snow day already. OH and I enjoying winding up eldest son that if they have 5 snowdays that will count as half-term and half-term next week will be cancelled. :shock::lol::lol:

He's not falling for it but I spotted this article today so might add weight to the wind up with this:

:clap::clap:

Am I cruel??? :boohoo:

Wow, that is cold :shock: Make sure you wrap up warm, wrap the eglu up etc or just bring them all indoors :lol:

The girls seem to be warm enough with no blankets on as i checked them at night and we have so much snow on top its acting as a blanket on them - they were fine but hate the snow.

I went to Moscow in Feb in 1993 and it was -16 by day; made your nose click as you breathed in and the air froze the moisture in your nostrils - most peculiar sensation :eh:

The nostril thing funnily enough is not a problem as I think its a dry dry cold just now and doesnt seem to do this like it did when we were younger.

Same here E - although ours came later in the week and then emptied the recycling which wasn't die to be done 'til this week!

We had heavy rain all afternoon and evening - but by 8.30 it was snowing and settling :? Snow on top of frozen slush :? I'm glad I made it outside yesterday.....I'll be staying away from the ice today.

No power in the next village - I've had to check online for school closures for my daughter.

Well, it was still snowing when I went to bed last night, but can't have done it for long. This morning we have 1-2" on top of what was left yesterday; slushy stuff and lethal to walk on (stay indoors Lesley).

The wind is blisteringly cold,but the gritters were out last night when I went to collect Rosie from Guides.

Our bins weren't collected last week either Egluntine - our road was a skidpan; they collected this morning though - not normally a collection day, but I'd left the bin in the front garden in hope. Bless them, I wouldn't want to do that job in this weather. :?

It started snowing here at about 9pm and continued heavily until about 1am, it was pretty windy too.

The children were convinced that another snow day was on the cards, but by this morning it was thawing fast and although the roads were very slushy it hadn't got as cold as predicted over night so it was wet rather than icy.

It is normally quite nice walking in snow, but this morning when I took YD to school it was really sqishy and wet and we had to keep well away from the roads because of spraying slush :vom:

I am not looking forward to tomorrow morning if it freezes overnight because it is so wet everywhere. I haven't seen this much standing water in my garden since the summer of 2007, everyone is getting very worried about flooding now.
