The Dogmother
Blimey Fee, that's a bit of a worry! At least they made a quick diagnosis and can treat it now. Wishing you good luck and lots of sleep.
Geoid
Hope she has a quick recovery. Bring in her ipod (if she has one) or a book, waiting in hospital is very very very very boring (I speak from experience)

Karen & co.
Hope she gets better soon Fee, my daughter had it when she was younger and the Consultants all came to see her as it had mostly been seen in little boys Her legs feet and fingers swelled up so much I couldn't fasten her favourite pair of Clarkes T bar shoes, which she was more upset about. Hope you both manage to get some rest. Karen x

feemcg
Thanks so much for all your kind wishes. When I went to see her last night the rash had spread a little further but the doc came.......she was 12 .........and said the blood tests were fine and they would see her on the ward round today. Emma's been texting me since half 7.....they woke her up for more bloods, and she's still waiting on the Consultant to come round. She also has to see a dermatologist, and maybe have a biopsy but there are no dermatologists at the hospital where she is........it's a big, modern general hospital!......with no skins unit!.....unbelievable ......I'm hoping she gets out and I can take her to her to the other hospital tomorow. I'm booked up to go to Lanzarote on Thursday with my 2 younger daughters, so it's looking a bit doubtful at the moment.

feemcg
Well, they told Emma she had to stay today, until she saw the dermatologist tomorrow. She's just phoned to say she's getting home tonight because people are queueing up on trolleys waiting for a bed. She's to go back at 9am for more blood tests, see dermatology at 3pm, then the doc reckons it'll be weekly blood and urine test for 6 weeks to keep an eye on her kidneys. See.........all your good wishes worked .......thanks, off through the snow to pick her up

BeckyBoo
Good news, it must have been, and still be, a big worry for you Do you think you'll make your holiday on Thursday? I can't remember how old you said your daughter was, but I'm glad she's coming home, hope she's a good patient for you BeckyBoo
feemcg
Back home and Emma's happy.....well she sounds like it by the sound of all the laughing and giggling coming from her room (her friends in). Her arms are sore from the drip and all the blood tests (more tomorrow), and some of the rash is going from purply/red to a brownish colour so I hope thats a sign the vasculitis is settling. As long as there's nothing showing in her bloods, and the purpura is settling I'll probably still go on Thursday.......her dad is half an hour away if needed and she'll have a friend staying. Also she works part-time in the surgery so they'll be keeping an eye on her anyway (she's 18 Becky).
