Minnie the Moocher
We went through a phase of having it at the back so that our cat couldn't unravel it, but I prefer it over the top and down the front: room to get your hand in you see! Guest
Definitely, without question, hanging down the front. I will change rolls in public places, but have to control myself in people's homes. No-one has mentioned my particular reasoning, so I will! If the paper is hanging down the back, it can brush on the wall behind it, which may be dirty, or worse a spider or something horrendous might be on the paper and I wouldn't see it. With the paper hanging in front I can scrutinize it as it comes over the top and know that the underneath has been inside the roll and therefore safe from contamination. Am I a bit loopy? jlo
Quite honestly - I don't see the point of toilet roll holders. You only have to change the roll over on a pretty frequent basis and we have one holder that jumps out at me when I have tried to do the deed so I just I guess our household is quite unusual in that I would quite happily just leave the paper "un-holdered" but OH prefers it over the top so that is generally how it ends up. Hence, I think that I am the first to vote that the toilet fairy does it
Ms Marple
Does that make me the toilet fairy??
Chickvic
Over the front - if we had a holder. Actually mine is stuck on the radiator, very nice in winter
Lesley
I love the Toilet Fairy We used to put ours on the radiator as well - now we have a stand thing so it is away from walls.....and spiders!
Olly
Over the top and down the front. Anything else is just WRONG.
Looney
Over the top and down the front! Easier to get hold of that way. I'm forever turning toilet rolls the right way round!
Jillus
The breadth and depths of the topics on this forum never fails to amaze me! What an insight into peoples minds. (Over the top and down the front by the way!)
Ain't Nobody Here
On the very rare occasion that somone else in the family has replaced the toilet roll but the incorrect way I have to change it round to the correct way Normally though they just leave the empty tube hanging on the holder Exactly what she said . It's just got to be over the top and down the front .
Blackrocksrock
Since the purpose of the toilet roll is all that matters and that there is some on the roll left in the toilet and not finished and no-one thought to get a new one then really DOES IT MATTER ONE JOT which way round it goes!. I personally just put it on and never think and lets just say never look either at anyone elses except when I was on holiday the landlady folded up the sheet on itself nicely - why would you do this? bronze
Was going to say some people don't have enough going on in their lives but instead please please please can we have a whos toilet roll is this thread (include small piece of wall/holder etc) with pics
Jules.
My holder is set vertically The paper has to come from the right hand side though
mostin
Down the back, down the back *stamps foot*, and yes, I too change it in other peoples houses . If it hangs down the back you can leave it so the end doesn't even show and then it looks really neat. I don't know why this bothers me so much as the rest of the house can be a bomb site, but the loo roll has to be that way. Luckily for me OH thinks all the paper is changed by the toilet paper fairy so I get my own way every time . I also have to use charmin, as it gives off no dust when you tear it. other brands make me cough until I . Just thought I'd really involve you all in the whole process, since we were sharing . Alis girls
Down the front of course. At work we have this infernal contraption which means if u r cack-handed like moi you end up with little bit of paper not sufficient to wipe the derriere of a mouse (Henthusasitic take note) let alone someone like me with what my OH calls a shapely butt i am amazed that the forums on this site are so humourous I have pleats sometimes at the subjects which get aired What next? loo seats up or down....... little chickadee
I also don't have room for a holder in my bathroom so it's on top of the cistern if I've been to the loo and sprawled over the floor if the kids have been. When you have a young puppy, this is not a good option

theherd123
I never realised there was a specific way to have your loo roll on the holder until the OH pointed it out to me - apparently it has to hang down the front! TBH i dont really give a hoot as long as there is some there!!!

Helly Welly
Over the front in our house. My mum has it hanging down the back and i always change it when i visit, then she changes it back and i change it again And it has to be recycled tissue, i can't stand thick loo roll like Andrex!! BarbaraJ
Its got to be down at the front but its usually an empty roll which no-one is capable of changing
