Noooo, not a mouse .

 

A huge, fat, slimy, squashed, revolting slug .

 

It's the second one we've found. I have to wash the slime and goo off the trap to reuse it .

Sausage, our cat catches slugs in his arm pits. It's vile having to brush them out.

Yes, Sausage has got long hair. He spends huge amounts of time lying around and the slugs love him. It's really embarrassing when someone comes to the house and strokes him only to find a squidgy bit.

I need to know what it was you used as bait ANH! This could be the way to go for organic slug control on my allotment! There isn't much sluggy activity yet, but I've spotted a couple of fat orange lurkers under my weed suppressor

The bait that caught both slugs was a tiny piece of stale biscuit . Can't remember what they were, kind of oaty ones.

 

This is the type of mousetrap I use. I've caught about 4 mice too so they work well and can be used over and over .

When Sophie was a kitten she used to catch slugs and I'd have to try to clean them off of her teeth, her mouth would be all slimed up, disgusting thing. Thankfully she outgrew this disgusting habit.

I caught a shrew in my rat trap

So sad .... with it's little pointy nose and little whiskers.

It was a boy though so at least there weren't any hungry babies left in the nest

 

I've abandoned that as it never caught any rats. The poisoned bait on top of the compost heaps has done the trick though

we get slugs coming in through the cat flap and they find their way into my OH's walking boots! I don't know who I feel sorry for the most - my hubby getting slimy feet or the poor slugs having to put up with smell!!

We caught the big fat brown slugs in our mouse traps - the nice ones where you can set mousie free miles away - they seemed to appreciate sunflower seeds, raisins and chocolate and a smidgeon of cheese. I had to put down pellets after that to keep my peas going and mouse free.

My brother's cat always used to collect yukky things in her long fur too.

We used to have hoards of slugs that came in our kitchen at night, through the cat flap in the old house. It was disgusting . Especially after we had Caitlin, and would be wandering through to the kitchen in the middle of the night to get bottles for her. Tigger and Hartley used to eat them.....
