Daphne
Having had a visit yesterday morning from a very nice drain clearance man because our outside drain was blocked, you can imagine my delight when it turned out to be the toilet waste pipe causing all the problems. The drain cover for that is in the conservatory, so we had a) gorgeous views and b) gorgeous smells - and all before 9.00 o'clock in the morning There is no way furry loo paper is finding its way into this house I am even thinking of rationing existing paper to 1 or 2 sheets per person and none of that nice extra thick quilted stuff. Daphne, maybe you should buy that tracing paper loo roll, that would definitely discourage excessive usage!

Daphne, maybe you should buy that tracing paper loo roll, that would definitely discourage excessive usage! Ugh - I shudder at that - brings back memories. My grandad always insisted on that paper and wouldn't have anything else. Eventually they had both. I wince at the thought of the scratchiness in spite of mum showing me how to make it a bit softer by rubbing it like you were hand washing a really dirty garment - and it was still like oucheeeee (and not very absorbent either ). ClaireG
Did anyone else use the horrid scratchy stuff as tracing paper at school?!
bluekarin
Did anyone else use the horrid scratchy stuff as tracing paper at school?! Oh I did! It was the worst thing ever. It wasn't absorbent at all *shudders at memories of wee running off it urgh*. Not quite sure who decided it was good for kids to use. Probably a cost thing
Lavenders_Blue
Oh yes, definitely a cost thing. Not only is it probably made out of left over tracing paper so costs practically nothing, it also discourages children from going to the loo... so a double saving
Valkyrie
Not at school, but at my nans yes! It also made a brilliant kazoo type thing when placed over a comb and hummed through - made your lips itch!
ClaireG
I'd forgotten about the kazoo thing, don't think you'd want to be trying thatwith the cashmere
