theherd123
As it's Shrove Tuesday tomorrow I assume most of us will be cooking pancakes - I will, at work as well as at home. I'll be sick of the things by tea time! So the question is......what do you put on yours? Im a bit of a traditionalist so go for lemon & sugar - might be a bit boring but I do love 'em! Lewis
We always go to my nans and have lemon + sugar ... we always seem to have ice cream on the last one!?
Sunshine
I always have lemon and sugar and then like Lewis always have something different on the last one-usually a Mars Bar. Although ice cream and sauce sounds nice..maybe its time for a change? We have decided that we are having them for brekkie and then for tea, i think i need a bit of substance for lunch! We often have pancakes for breakfast on a Sunday so it won't be too different having them tomorrow!

majorbloodnock
Lemon and sugar here too, although I try to make sure there are some limes to squeeze too; the slightly more perfumed taste works well IMHO.
Lesley
I like lime zest and lemon juice and sugar as well

Rhapsody
Streaky bacon and maple syrup. But I may not bother today as I make them all the time. TOP TIP- leave the mixture to rest for half an hour and they will not break up in the pan.

Geoid
Top Tip: When making pancakes, put all the ingredients into a milk bottle, put the lid on and shake it. Then you can pour out the batter at ease.
chickencam
Lemon and sugar for me We always had oranges instead when I was a child, lemons were way too exotic The children have jam, golden syrup, nutella, and other lovely combinations We are having waffles not pancakes this year because we prefer them and they are much easier to make. The Dogmother
Lemon and sugar for me too. As Rhapsody says; leave the batter to rest for a while before using. I usually make up some ordinary pancakes and some scotch pancakes (drop scones)
docsquid
I was thinking of doing a thicker savoury pancake for main course with a salmon sauce (since we have salmon to eat tonight). I'll do a sort of mushroom, salmon and light cheese sauce to go with them, I think. Then I'll do thinner crepe-style pancakes for pudding. DH will probably have ice cream and chocolate sauce with them. I don't really like sweet things, but might make an exception for a bit of choc sauce or lemon and sugar. Every year we say we must have pancakes more often and every year we fail to!

craftyhunnypie
I had 4 & hubby 5, all with lemon & sugar. Made in quite a small pan though, more like American pancake size. Ours is our special pancake / egg pan, as we don't fry very often & anything we do fry is usually done in the wok. Hubby did the flipping. I was just praying for him to drop it on the floor. Mwah ha ha ha! Emma.x
