Appy Feet!

Recommended Posts

I didn't click in case it was spiders  - but now I can see it is about those little fish that nibble all the dead skin off your feet :D Not sure that I could stand the tickling.

I didn't want all that orange to traumatise you Lesley

I think it's a great idea - but I shiver at the thought of touching fish anyway, let alone letting them nibble my toes!

I'd rather cope with orange than spiders

My cousin works at the Derby branch. The fish are changed regularly and are recycled (left hungry for a while in filtered water and fed some sort of food that makes them more hygenic apparently!)

The fish are also offered for sale to staff, my cousin actually bought my aunty the set up for her birthday comprising of a tank with filter, fish and the food stuff. If you have your own set up it is obviously much more comforting that the only feet your fish have nibbled are your own or partners!

Any questions I am sure I can give her a nudge on facebook.

Martin

I have been desperate to 'have a go' ever since I heard about this.

I've been in the sea before and had fish nibbling on my skin tag that I have on my stomach...that was strange  but the idea of them sorting my horrible feet out is lovely (although they may have to shut up shop for a couple of hours after to allow the fish to get their appetites back )

I saw this at Hop Farm Festival, but have to say my major concern was for the fishes welfare (well I am vegetarian!) so I was encouraged to read Martin B's post and might be tempted, if it can be proved that no fish are harmed in the making of my pedicure!

I went to the Trafford centre last night, and there were loads of people in the shop, all being nibbled!

There were 2 benches either side of a tank, and 4 people to each tank. Lots of people were laughing, and one woman was shrieking!:lol:

Looked interesting though. Not sure I would like to be watched by people walking past the shop though, as there was a bit of a crowd outside the shop watching the people!

I@m not a spa kind of girl but have to admit this interests me.

For me and dd (whos is 3)

we both walk around bare foot a lot and our feet though healthier than most peoples could do with a going over

For £10 (did someone say that was th eprice) I would pay that

I can just imagine people all over the country sitting at home watching telly with their feet in fish tanks

Do you think Argos or Boots will be selling kits for Christmas :D

I'm off to the Trafford Centre next week so am planning on giving it a go.

I've been :D Only had the 15 minutes and my feet feel lovely and smooth as if they've had a really good exfoliation. Feel better than they do after a proper salon pedicure infact. Would have liked to have the longer session but DH was wanting to walk round the TC and I found the benches uncomfortable so I think 15 minutes is a good time. The sensation was a bit like lots of little electric shocks, but nice ones, rather than ticklish for me. If it was nearer I could see me doing this regularly.

I love this idea - natural therapy in extremis - and am 20 mins from the Trafford Centre so will definitely go this summer. But am concerned about the fish - what happens to them once they are past it? Where do they go when resting etc? I hate my feet so look forward to the transformation. Will report back. :)

Resurrecting and old thread here rather than start a new one........

All I can say is......it's not for me

My daughter, son, grand-daughter and I had Groupon vouchers for a small salon to have this done this afternoon........and they haven't stopped laughing yet

I expected it to tickle and it felt exactly as I thought it would. I'm quite a controlled person and don't generally show myself up in public but I came over quite unnecessary  I was almost hysterical with laughter/tears and had thoughts of running away. My family were aghast for a moment but then enjoyed the next 30 minutes at my expense  I ended up with a paper napkin stuffed in my mouth to stop the shrieking and frightening off the next couple who were waiting. I really, really don't like it!

I'm still a complete wreck and my legs are like jelly.............and my family say they won't be seen out in public with me ever again

Fortunately for me they were laughing so much that they forgot to video me so I won't be appearing on Youtube later
