appendicitis

Oooo ouch! Don't over do stuff. I remember having a giggling fit at some junior doctors & feeling fine after my op. The next day I could not walk & was bent over double. What I'm saying is be careful, you might think you are ok & it doesn't hurt - but the next day it will affect you.

Look after yourself & get others to wait on you.

I was very lucky, i got bad at work, finished my morning surgery (typical :| ) & went in to one of my GPs who called an ambulance, the surgeon said it was very early so not too bad, well if that was an ealy one goodness knows what a bad one feels like

Ive had a big vase arrangement from work and hubby has made my tea & looked after the girls. Im having trouble straightening up but Im not too bad. Not sure how long I can expect to be off work?

Hopefully this will cheer you up.

My DH had the operation COMPLETELY unneccessarily as a child as he faked a really bad tummy as he was off school, and didn't want his mum to leave him. He has the scar, mentally and physically :D Surely that must be amazing to pull that off and he should of gone on to be an actor.

His mum never found out.

Hope you feel better soon.

I was 'lucky' in that I had it done as a child so you tend to recover quicker then, I amazed the nurses by getting out of bed just after it was done and wandered around looking for the bathroom. They told the change of staff in the morning as I was pottering around and one nurse said 'I bet if we said touch your toes you could' so I did - never heard so many nurses shout at once :lol:

Hope you get well soon Tiggy,

I left my appendix at the Royal Berkshire 13 years ago when working away from home. Mine was a late one as I kind of hoped it would go away, needless to say it didn't.

Although I was very sore after the operation I felt much more comfortable than I did beforehand.

I was taken in Thursday night and discharged Friday morning, I felt every tiny bump on the motorway home.

I would second the 'take it easy advice'. I went back to work after a week off and burst my stitches running for a train with my case in hand. I would have taken the full nine weeks recommended by the doctor only I didn't get sick pay at the time. :boohoo:

Take care,

Kev.
