I didn't see any of the dances this week, so really not qualified to comment...but.....can't believe Jimi was worse than Michelle......bring back the dance off...and please someone persuade Ann that the decent thing to do....... is retire!!!!

I really hope that they don't bring back the dance off. I hated it when they introduced it, I suppose I've never got over Austin going! I think the judges have enough power as it stands. Also not sure if it would have made much difference tonight as Jimi and Michelle were pretty close on the leader board. The only way to get Ann out is to get her in the bottom two, either way, and that's not happening unfortunately.

Hmmm....just had a 'conspiracy theory' moment...do you suppose they aren't getting enough people ringing in, so they set this up to make sure viewers are scared that a really good dancer will go home unless they make a call??

Absolutely terrible - the result and Tess's dress Poor Jimi, he was so upset.

 

I don't think the right two were in the bottom at all so really it is down to the 'stupid' British public. I really hope that people realise what is happening when they keep voting Ann in. I know its an entertainment show but it is primarily a dance show. I'm sure its probably not bothering Ann at all as she seems pretty arrogant about it all. I'm really, really annoyed. Even hubby was asking where he can complain to.

I had to watch Jimmy's dance again last night when I got home just to make sure I hadn't dreamt how good it was!

 

At this rate it is anyone's guess who will be in the final few - quite how Gavin Henson and Ann are still there I don't know! I don't like Michelle but she has improved - as had Jimmy - and, as I feared, leaving it to the public has been (as Craig would say) disaaaaaastrous!

 

Not sure how they can change the rules for the better - possibly like the X Factor where once the bottom 2 are announced the judges save one, but without a dance-off, just on their performances to date?

 

Does anyone know when they actually film the Sunday show? Am curious as to how Digital Spy knows so early after Saturday.....

The result is usually on Digital Spy around 10.15-10.30pm on the Saturday night. Saddo that I am, I check before I go to bed

I still miss Arlene because I found her knowledge of dance and the body really interesting - something I know nothing about. Now Bruno and Craig sort of pick up on those points and although I thought Alesha was a fantastic dancer and always looks amazing, she doesn't add anything to the comments.

 

I'm still surprised Felicity Kendall is in. And think maybe Ann and Anton have got a bit too cocky. I have found their antics funny, but on Saturday thought, hello, they think they are indestructible and I didn't like that so much.

 

Still, Strictly is my favourite guilty pleasure!

Unfortunately I think Jimi fell into the category of not unpopular/not popular. I thought he was a really good dancer but I must admit I have never voted for him (it would be interesting to know how many forum member actually voted for him this weekend?)

 

I am voting for Matt and Pamela at the moment but I won't waste money voting for every single dancer I want kept in and I think that is why some pretty good dancers don't stay in the competition, they just fall naturally by the wayside.

 

I think it is a travesty that Jimi went rather than some of the others but as I didn't vote for him don't think I have a right to complain that other people didn't vote for him !

It's really sad that Jimi has gone as he was really good and his enjoyment was infectious. Michelle and Ann need to go now, for our collective sanity if nowt else.

I confess I never vote on these programmes. I'm finding this years Strictly a bit odd. I"m pleased Len reasserted the rules about no lifts as I thought I was going mad as this series it seems that anything goes.

 

I seem to remember Christopher Parker doing extremely well in the first series and I think he reached the final.

 

I would prefer to see a dancing programme that is entertaining rather than a dumbed down entertainment programme with a little dancing.

 

I think Strictly is caught in two minds this year.

 

They seriously need to do something about the 'Sunday' show. It has zero atmosphere without the buzz of a live show, has been edited to fit into a half hour slot and is not well structured.

I took the kids out on Sat to the local pub for fireworks, so have only just caught up on strictly and this forum thread. What an awful result! OH has made me feel guilty by saying its my fault - I normally vote for Jimi (because Flavia is my favourite professional and Jimi is my most likeable celeb this yr - and i also ring in for my fave dance of the evening!) but obviously couldnt due to being out.

 

Ann and Anton are dangerously near C Parker territory now.

 

I hope Matt or Kara stay til the end - they're both capable of an amazing show dance and I dont want to miss it for another tackiness-embodied farce of a dance from widders!

I agree.

 

I admit that at the beginning I found Ann amusing, and she provided an "alternative" way of dancing! But I think she has had her time now, and wish she would take the same approach as John last year, and bow out gracefully. I think she would be respected a lot more!

 

With last nights voting results, who knows who will be in the final 2 - it doesn't appear to be a dancing competition this year. I think the judges should decide between the bottom 2 or 3 after the public have voted, rather than just having the bottom pair go. While Jimi wasn't the best - he certainly was not the worst - and should of had the opportunity to keep working and improving.

 

And as for the Sunday night show - not good. I watch the last 5 or 10 mins and don't bother with the rest!

I really struggled with the show this year & gave up on it totally about 3 weeks ago when the gimmick laden dances/costumes/sets started to grate too much.

 

I know that Anne is seen as funny or plucky,but I just felt embarrassed watching her

I do like Jimi though & its a shame he has gone,especially if it was undeserved.
