She stole the egg off Jemima (my duck) and sat on it, so I put her in a separate hutch with it and gave her a chance... and we got Orville! She was quite a personality, and it was her and her soulmate, Kiki (sadly also deceased now) that got me and my girlfriend into hens in the first place. The name stuck even when he grew into a very handsome, flamboyant lad, but I added Tyson when he started attacking my feet - he need a more appropriate name! I grew up with the british punk rock scene through the late 1970's, and some of the quotes and statements from that era still remain with me, "ignore alien orders", "don't believe the truth" "question everything you're told" etc etc. I can't remember why I chose it for this message board. I saw this little animation and sometimes wished that would happen to the little feathered fiends . But I have grown to love them very much (to the point that my OH gets a little ) . That was a book that I used to recite over and over and at one point my parents thought I could read it too until they caught me reciting with the book upside down My username comes simply from the fact that I live in a place called Marple and the Agatha Christie reference was too tempting to ignore........ Seagazer Posted May 22, 2011 Share Posted May 22, 2011 I saw the forum name Stargazer on another forum but thought I'd use Seagazer instead as I love looking at the sea (must be the Pisces in me ). My origianl avatar was of Cookie when she was a young dog and she was sitting on Dymchurch beach looking out to sea (apt I thought) but the sea can be quite brown looking down there so it didn't look like the sea. The current avatar which you have to squint to see is of my hubby and YS with Cookie standing on her back legs looking over the sea wall at Dymchurch to the sea. That was when we still had our caravan at Dymchurch At Christmas is a photo of Cookie looking embarrassed that I've put tinsel round her neck.
