Just wondering what languages we can speak on this forum! (no matter how little words!)

 

As for me, english (of course), french, some german, some swedish and a few words in spanish.

I can talk about holidays, daily routine, sports etc perfectly in Spanish! As for the rest, I know very little! Thanks GCSE Spanish!

same for me! just for GCSE french.... I dont think ill ever be able to talk a foreign language fluently

 

about talking 'hen', I made noises my hens make to a cockeral while I was out somewhere, and it started following me!

English - ie East Midland, cockney and thames estuary English - comes of moving around. O level French and can order a beer in Greek

Studied these at school/uni (but doesn't mean I could hold a conversation - except maybe in French):

 

Latin, French, Spanish, German, Italian and a few words of Japanese. Oh, and a smattering of Scots .

I did French and Spanish A-levels (over 10 years go now). Ought to be good enough to hold a basic conversation, you would think, but last time we went to France I had to ask hubby how to ask for a stamp!

English, fluently and the only language in which I can confidently hold a proper conversation.

Welsh, used to speak it well, but not lived in Wales for a very long time and forgotten most of what I ever knew. Oddly enough I can understand it far better than I speak it these days.

Maori, long, long way from fluent but working on it & improving all the time.

French, just a smattering of O level (whoops, showing my age there!) French...can often communicate what I want with a lot of gesticulation and good will to go along with the few words I can remember how to string together.

Anything else, maybe a few odd words here & there but really not a hope of making myself understood.
