chuckmum6
Unfortunately we could all see the future that awaited her, very sad, but only Amy could have changed the events that led to this. Still a terrible waste and I feel for her family.

Griffin
She was my five year old daughters favourite singer. She hasn't moved from my lap since she heard the news, keeps crying and says "I'm very sad Mummy" Poor girl has never had to deal with the death of a human before, only animals, this seems very different for her. I feel desperately sad for the family left behind.

Charlottechicken
Good grief May she find the peace that eluded her in life. RIP
scarlettohara
a shock though not a surprise Let's hope that her younger fans realise that Amy chose to take drugs, rehab is sucessful in many cases but there is a point where you can just say no and that may be a cliche but it is true. I lost 2 friends and a cousin to overdoses and both had lots of support and expensive rehab - they made the decision

I lost 2 friends and a cousin to overdoses and both had lots of support and expensive rehab - they made the decision Scarlett this is so true. I was sad but not surprised, it is a terrible waste of that talent but she'd thrown away the talent anyway. I fear there is a view you can take drugs and go into rehab and it will all be ok. When I was at uni I didn't care that I would be thought uncool and prudish and just said no and discovered to my surprise that fellow students taking drugs greatly admired my stance and wished they were that strong
Jewels
Very sad, however I would never ever have let my young children listen/or watch her, she was certainly no role model!! We should still have parental control over what our young children watch. Whilst I know it is very tragic for her family and friends - this was a path she had taken in refusing help or rehab. In my line of work I sadly see young people destroying their lives via drugs or alcohol abuse (and many much younger than Amy) and no matter how much help you offer or give them they can see no way out it is heartbreaking and sadly a daily occurance that no one normally hears of, everyday families have the heartbreaking news that their loved one has died due to substance abuse, let us not forget that. As i said it is very sad that she has died and god rest her soul I hope she has found peace but it is also important for our youth that we do not make her into some kind of martyr, she was a very troubled lady
C&T
A huge loss. Being in the public eye so much, maybe her story re addiction will help save another life.
Alis girls
Wonderful talent wasted - very foolish young woman - hope the impressionable fans dont think drugs and alcohol in huge amounts are the way to go. I feel for her family. My friend lives down the road from the private school she attended and at their fetes in the past could here her singing. Beautiful voice - hope she finds the peace she didnt get on earth - sadly a great waste. RIP Amy and shame on those who pushed you towards drug and alcohol abuse

We should still have parental control over what our young children watch. I shall make sure I listen to only Sir Cliff Richard in the car from now on My favourite singer, Michael Hutchence killed himself in a drug induced haze. It looks as if Amy Winehouse probably did the same. If anything, my choice of listening material has taught my children not to take drugs because nothing good ever comes of it. We've spoken openly about the risks, it's not in the slightest been glamorized.

I'm not sure Amy Winehouse really wanted to be clean/dry - some people are seemingly built to self-destruct.
