CatieB
I've just Googled our local town but can't find any info, so I guess we're too unimportant to get a Z-lister to switch on our Christmas lights The nearest city to us is Peterborough where apparently Chico will be switching on the Christmas lights! The nearest city to me is Cambridge and Chico will be doing there too. Do you think it was a BOGOF?

Lewis
Aber normally has Alex from Radio 1 doing everything as he's from here - the Olympic torch was here for 2 days with the Chris Moyles Show! Birmingham light switch on was on Saturday with reindeer... and Camels! I worked with the camels over Summer and think they were grumpy 'cos it was so cold I can't wait for the Christmas Markets to open!! Am going with a load of Uni friends for my birthday! surfer_chicken
We've got Lord Provost (basically the major) and 'special guests' here. Not announced who yet though, but doesn't matter anyway, turns out you needed to apply for tickets before the end of September
Valkyrie
Apparently local singing star Lauran Thalia (who???) will be doing the Basingstoke ones. Apparently it was Alvin and the Chipmunks last year - well at least I've heard of them. Sadly I've also heard them on cartoons - and wished I was somewhere else. Have no idea who's doing the Hook ones.

Willow
As Sarah said there is no indication anywhere for Henley In Reading it will be 'Coronation Street's Michelle Keegan, who plays Tina McIntyre, and on-screen boyfriend Chris Fountain, who plays Tommy Duckworth'. Years since I watched Corrie so don't know who they are
PurpleTree
Cardiff's are being switched on tonight, no one is actually pressing the button. The Winter Wonderland outdoor ice rink opens tonight too & there's various entertainment happening. Bob the Builder & Wendy, a lifelike moving Polar Bear & a reindeer parade amongst other things. Sounds good, we're not going though.

Chucky Mama
OMG major disappointment in downtown Swindon. They have had to cancel Cheggars switching on the lights tomorrow because of the weather. I thought I had better post just in case anyone was about to make the trip. It has been rescheduled for December 5 from 5pm let's hope Cheggars can still make it
