The Cherwell always takes about 24 hours to filter down here, so I think it might breach tomorrow. The water table is now so high that I can see standing water where there's never been any before! sjp Posted January 30, 2014 Share Posted January 30, 2014 there's snow in the air here bur I can't see it coming to much unless the temperature really drops the top of the ground is far to wet. what we really we through is a good spell of cold weather to give the water time to recede i.e. around minus 5 that should be cold enough to keep the snow away to but just about warm enough to stop the standing water from getting to thick with ice Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm only wishing for a cold spell not snow I'm done with all this rain and mud plus I've got a new allotment plot that's more clay than soil that needs to dry out plus it needs some frost and ice in it to brake it up so I can finish digging it at the moment it's rough dug but needs the weeds fetching out, in six weeks I'm hoping to get the spuds planted Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
