Willow
I don't know how long it's been like this but I just noticed the number of views for each topic is getting really high. The ques I posted about roofers this morning already has over 500 views whereas I would have expected maybe 20 ? So who are all these viewers ? is it search engines ? or real people ? Ain't Nobody Here
Come to think of it, I had noticed but hadn't really thought about whether it was any different before. I was surprised at the high number of views when there were so few replies to a couple of my posts (perhaps my posts are just very boring ). Valkyrie
LOL! Only since you mentioned it. One so far for this (should now be 2) and over a thousand for the one I posted the other day. And as for the strictly dancing - wow!
Grandmashazzie
Just noticed this,Could they be right? It's as if an extra zero has been added, surely theft are not usually so high.
Cinnamon
I guess anything that is popular - Strictly, GBBO & so forth, would get more hits because the thread would come up in peoples Googles on the subject. They do seem really rather high though
yvonne
Well spotted, looks like a computer glitch to me.
sjp
it's not just on here I've noticed it on another forum as said it might be down to search engines
Ain't Nobody Here
I'd rather it was search engines than lots of people - I'd feel like we have hundreds of peeping toms listening into our "private" conversations (if you'll forgive the mixed imagery!) . Daphne
Yes well I can't believe that over 30,000 people have really looked at our ramblings on growing fruit and veg
clucker1
See what you mean! I don't think 964 people would have looked at my post about in less than 24 hours which is when I posted about cake accessories. I don't understand all this computer business...how would someone googling at cake accessories get onto Omlet board. Something weird happening. Space Chick
The google bot is on as I type

It wouldn't probably happen much for a 'wide' search like that, but add a brand name & suddenly anyone Googling that name will find the Omlet thread on their search results. There are other search engines of course , but Google is the main one, so I am using it in the Hoover way (I have a Sebo, but still 'do the Hoovering')
Alis girls
And heres me thinking I was scintilating company. You have burst my bubble. Bit creepy - could be Martians seeing how earthlings keep chickens

The Dogmother
I reckon it's the bots
Willow
I think it must be the bots but I wonder why the spike. I do kind of hope it's the major search engine bots not anything else. For reasons I can't work out someone in the Ukraine keeps trying to break my password for my id on another chicken forum I never go onto. I'd even forgotten I had a login until I was getting the alerts that there were multiple password attempts. They helpfully provided the IP address these attempts were coming from so I could track it to the Ukraine. But what I can't figure out is why they want to break into my account on that forum. The Dogmother
Either so they can spam it, or because they have no idea what it is a forum for and are just trying to crack your password.
Cat tails
Or hoping your password is the same for multiple things and they pick the website with the least amount of protection....
Egluntyne
Maybe now they know we are on to them, the bots will clear off.
