Sad news about Riley

Recommended Posts

For those Omlet forum members who remember my beautiful dog Riley, I'm very sad to have to say that we had to have him put to sleep today. He'd been getting more and more frail but this morning he had a bit of a turn and wasn't able to stand up properly or walk. We rescued him in January 2001 and he was about 1 or 2 then, so he was about 17 years old.

He went very peacefully, all 4 of us were with him, and he just looked as though he was asleep. Best doggie ever xx

I have always loved the profile picture of him, such a great photo. You obviously gave him a great life for him to live for so long. I remember how worried you were when he had his cliff fall, which must be a good few years ago now, he was a tough cookie. RIP Riley :(

Thanks everyone. He really has left a huge hole in all our lives but we do have lots of lovely memories. We had a holiday in Skye booked for the day after we had to take him to the vet so it's nice that we're all together as a family and not having to be at work. Going home again will be hard though as all his stuff will be there :( .

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about Smiley Riley - sleep tight little man, sweet dreams xx

I am sure he has left you with countless happy memories from his long and very happy life!

I've been "lurking" on the Forum for ages but not posting (looooong story I won't bore you all with), but I couldn't ignore this post so had to post a quick reply. xx

Hi ANH. I am so sorry to read that you have lost Riley. He was such a lucky dog to live most of his life with you and your family.

I have not been on the form much recently and missed your post. I am sorry I am rather late posting but was sad when I found your post. I remember reading your posts about Riley.

Best wishes

Chrissie
