The Dogmother
Who has it, and photos please None here yet, just wet sleet, but it's falling properly in the Chilterns, and I saw a car with lots of snow on it in Banbury.
Grandmashazzie
None here, just outside Belfast. Although they keep promising it and the boys are most excited.
soapdragon
Who has it, and photos please None here yet, just wet sleet, but it's falling properly in the Chilterns, and I saw a car with lots of snow on it in Banbury. We are in Chalgrove just on the other side of the Chilterns to DM and have had what I would refer to as a dusting. The roads and pavements in the village are just wet as any snow hasn't really settled on them but gardens and roofs are white. It's patchy though so, unless there is significantly more overnight (not forecast) it may all be gone by early morning. I think the real problem will be black ice on the roads tomorrow unless the gritters have been out!
Purplemaniacs
On the Rutland Northants border we have rain so far. When I came home from school at 2.00 a grittier was gritting on the A43. Hope we don't get any snow and it isn't too icy in the morning. Chrissie
sjp
had a couple of flurries here mid afternoon and about 1hr ago but to wet to come to anything
The Dogmother
Well, it has stopped here, bitterly cold wind, but nothing coming down as yet. Great Missenden and Radnage have both had a bit of proper snow, and some of the villages hereabouts have too. Just off out to pop the frost cover on my car. soapdragon
We are further down the hill than Radnage so maybe it's higher ground getting the worst round here. Although we were forecast to have heavy snow for the last 3 hours it has only really been an hour or so and is now melting away! And the boys were getting so excited about having a day off school tomorrow...a tad premature, methinks
Blackrocksrock
We have had about 3 inches altogether - lorries and cars stuck going up hills etc round and about - but hey it is WINTER folks I am a bit fed up of people today going on how awful it is = it would be awful in May rather than January. Will attempt a picture. Picture too dark - will wait till daylight
ubereglu
Not here just yet (Should add that I'm currently living in Shropshire, 6 miles north of Shrewsbury...) Think it's forecast to arrive overnight, and I am not wanting it to come, as otherwise I feel the drive to my placement will be fun...erm, if not quite dangerous. Valkyrie
Ours started around 4.30 but it was falling on top of rain and for the most part was slush. Probably went on for about 2 hours but more the ice lumps type and not the pretty flakes. Roads are clear and there's just a light covering everywhere else. Valkyrie
Sorry - not a good one but it's pretty much the same. This was at 5pm.
AndyRoo
We haven't got any. And I'm upset - I *LOVE* snow.
The Dogmother
Woke at 3.30am and there was a sprinkling, no more snow now but it's pretty windy.
Egluntyne
Coming down heavily here this morning.
Groovychook
Nothing doing here We had some flurries yesterday afternoon but it had rained so hard earlier in the day that it didn't stick. Bloomin' cold and windy though!
The Dogmother
Bottom of my road (on a hill) is like a skidpan!
soapdragon
No more over night but heavy snow forecast 10 and 11am. However, pm temps of 5 degrees so it will clearly not hang about! Its the black ice I worry about - esp driving!
Cat tails
Nothing much last night, a bit of wet snow. Went to have a shower this morning, I come out and it's really snowing heavily! Chickens are looking horrified! It is still above 0 luckily so melting on the ground. But the roofs of the houses are turning white fast. Valkyrie
Yes, it looked like the roads were clear but this morning I can see where the cars have driven through the slush and it's iced up in ridges. Be careful peeps, it doesn't look nice for driving at all unless you are on the main roads.
dancing cloud
3-4 ins overnight, but we are above 1000ft - just. Lots of foxy footprints in the garden snow, including one on the kitchen door sill - cheeky blighter!

The Dogmother
That's pretty. Sunny here now, but a bitterly cold wind.
patsylabrador
Nothing much here. A few flurries of wet snow that quickly turns into normal rain. I was reading about thundersnow forecast in the north. I dont think I'd like that. ES said it was -16 with windchill where he is and -2 in his little house when he got home.
