I think that all my responses have already been covered by all those wise Omleteers who have already commented. All I can add is that I'm so sorry that you've been disappointed, and dreadful news about your birth mother too...all on top of the problems that you've had with your Mum and Dad recently too....you really have had a tough time recently.

 

But your birth Dad has access to the letter if he ever changes his mind, he may have additional pressures now, his wife's opinion, worries about telling his children. I hope that with time he will reconsider, and if he ever does accept the letter or even make contact then you'll know that it's because he really wants to.

I can only hope, like others, that your birth father changes his mind after reflection, and reads your letter. I can appreciate that it must be a scary step for him too. What irony to find out about your birth mother's illness just when you are going through it all with your adoptive mother. How weird is that?

I cannot believe he does not want to read your letter. It could be that he is under pressure from his wife. She could be the jealous type and can't cope with his past life coming into the present at the moment.

I missed this thread back in Jan. I am so sorry to hear about your birth mother.

 

Personally it really saddens me that your birth father does not even want to read your letter I always think that honesty is the best policy and that his children will prob be a little upset/cross when they find that they have a sister they knew nothing about.
