Dear Fowbird,

All we got last time was frost.

So a bit of snow would made a change.

Will send you some on a bottle just like they send a ray of sun!!

Best regards

Ian & Valerie

and I promise not to let the genie out of the bottle :D

lighter sky than yesterday but still grey and damp - no rain... mild when I let the girls out at daybreak which was... around 8am...

We have seen the sun today, better than yesterday. It is about 10 degrees here at the moment.

We are going to Cheltenham Towns' FA cup replay tonight and it will be about 4 degrees by then

The hens made a real mess of part of the lawn yesterday  , I think they turned over every inch of soil in the garden and the 2 white ones were pretty grubby by bedtime

oh, Koojie, they have you in a pincer movement - they're also moving north from the M3/A303

 Ooooh, better teach the girls how to duck!

We already have lots of buzzards - they might compete.

At the moment, after a grey morning, some bright spots of blue between the grey. Being fairly high I can see the clouds rolling in from the West/South West but no rain yet. I am not looking out the front - that's mostly grey, although the sun has appeared from time to time. I thought that the mornings were supposed to be getting lighter but just lately I have had to turn the lights on first thing when I didn't have to before Christmas. Even the girls whinge when I let them out at 8, and eventually inch down the ramp.

Yay - sun's out!

It was lovely and sunny here at lunchtime, but it's clouding over now and looking like rain.

Buzzards and red kites principally compete for different prey; kites are carrion (dead meat) feeders only, whereas buzzards prey on mainly live stuff and only feed off the odd carcass (usually road kill). There's an outside (very rare) chance that a buzzard could go for a chook, but it would be rare. Chickens are prey anyway, so will always duck or run for cover when a large bird of prey or light aircraft goes over.

the 4 we have now are afraid of the sparrowhawk when it sits on the fence but our Irish girls tried to chase it off...

clouds now a mixed bunch - between Banbury and Basingstoke I think we'll end up with rain :(

THE SUN CAME OUT! :D

for all of 30 seconds...

So I went for a run and got soaked on the way home.

Never mind, it was an excuse for a steaming bath with my favourite bath suds and no interruptions.

Dull and dark most of the day (apart from that little bit of sun), rain in the afternoon.

It's been a balmy 8 degrees and has anybody noticed how much lighter it is in the afternoon?

We hope that you have a good result in your FA Cup replay tonight.

Hi Everyone

It has been a mixed day for weather around the Preesall , Blackpool & Preston areas. A bit of rain then overcast and warmer than it has been of late.

There is little or no cloud at the moment, so could be a cooler night.

Thank you to everyone who has enquired how "Baby" is, as it is early days yet it is hard to say just hoping we can repair the damage leg via the splint the vet made.

How is the weather where you live in the UK or other parts of the world?

Best regards

Ian & Valerie
