Twelth Night-5th January

sadly Norman the Nordman is coming down tomorrow.

 

He's been up since 29th November and still has all his needles so he's done very well.

I've taken mine all down today We are away at the weekend and it will be difficult on Monday.

 

I love it when the decorations come down, the house suddenly feels bigger again. I do miss the fairy lights though.

Today - the local hospice then collect the trees next weekend for a donation

 

We now have 2 door access to our ;ounge once again .

We'll be doing ours tomorrow much to the childrens disgust! Ours still has its needles but if you pull at them they drop out in handfuls so it'll be a bald spike by the time it's out the door! I hate the way the house looks so dull and boring afterwards but I LOVE finally being able to dust and clear away the cards.

Ours is coming down on Sunday so we can get it in the loft when I get home from work, and I will be able to get to the piano in the spare room with out tripping over bauble boxes!

Ours came down today. I am back to work soon and won't be around to do it. House looks very bare and dark

Tomorrow...or Sunday. Can't wait to get my surfaces back.... The house always looks so big once the cards and decorations disappear! Shame about all the dust which will have accumulated underneath them all though.

our tree came down a few days ago - it was dropping needles everywhere even though I was watering it every day and had put it in the conservatory which is the coolest part of the house It was very definitely resembling a twig

 

the outside light tree, door wreath and gold light up reindeers in the front window will come down at the weekend

 

love having the space back (and being able to see out into the garden) but I really miss the fairy lights - might have to keep some of them up as they are very twinkly pretty :D

We didn't have an indoor tree - just some twigs with berries and lights - I'm going to keep them, they make the room feel cosy.

Ours never went up!

Stepson and GF were visiting before Christmas and we were going to ask them to do it but they were too busy, and then DH got the 'flu over Christmas so I didn't bother as all the decorations are under the bed and any time he gave me some peace he was asleep in bed!

They would've come down this weekend though.

We don't have much space and Lesley reminded me of the year DH got a branch that had come down in a storm, spray-painted it gold and screwed it to the wall - it was really lovely with a few baubles on.

The tree had to come down last Monday as it was fast becoming a twig.

 

The rest of the decorations came down yesterday. You can see why it was decided that it was a good idea to have a festival in the middle of winter as it does help to have all the lights around during the dark days of December. I agree that it is a bit bare now but I quite like the decluttered state of the house.
