they are asking people to look out for them being put up for sale....

Pair blue laced bantam Wyandottes

Trio barred Wyandotte bantams

2 white Silkie males and 3 hens

Mixed pen of blue Silkies with some splash and some black

1 male and 5 hens cuckoo Silkies

Pair gold Polands

Pair Chamois Polands

Quartet of lemon cuckoo Pekins

Trio blue Pekins

 

100 assorted hybrids in cuckoo, blue, amber and Snowbell Whitestars

 

Please keep a lookout wherever you are, these birds could be anywhere by now.

We got Ivory and Latte from Merrydale Poultry, Karen the lady there is so helpful and knowledgable. What a shock for her and the stolen birds.

That's terrible . How on earth does someone go about getting 150 chickens to go anywhere, let alone where they presumably don't want to go . Not to mention how on earth they think they have the right to just steal them .

Or is it diddicoys? at least they'll eat or sell the eggs. But how will they treat these lovely chickens? Not well, methinx.

Its terrible. At least if they are sold at a poultry sale they may be with people who will care for them. I hope they get caught. Blow for Merrydale though I love looking at their website.

Just thought I'd post that I've just read on Practical Poultry that Karen has managed to get some of her birds back due to vigilant people who saw them for sale at Chelford auction mart. Don't know how many though as she hasn't said.

Moral of the story...never underestimate the vigilance of the chicken fraternity.
