craftyhunnypie
What actually do crab apples look like? Only because I went for a walk on Sunday along a tiny lane & there was a tree full of tiny apples! Emma.x
chickencam
We had a jug full of tomatoes from the greenhouse on Monday which went into a spag.bol. they are not as tendet and sweet now, but fine for a robust sauce.

Worth picking and freezing as they are great for using in all sorts of jams/jellies. Really high pectin levels.
The Dogmother
The wild ones are just green but ornamental trees have pretty coloured apples, the ones on my tree look like little round, red christmas lights. Whatever you do, don't be tempted to eat them raw; they are unbearably tart and will give you tummy ache if you at enough.

Lesley
Ours is an old quarry which has been landfilled so we've had to import all our topsoil into raised beds - I hope you don't have to go down the same route Freddie. We're still picking outdoor tomatoes

When you say tiny do you mean really tiny? Like the size of a 50p? Because I have seen lots of these minature apples and I didn't know what they were! stehaggan
lol thats what i thought lol - no i might go and find those apple trees that i discarded then pop to hobbycraft to get one! I think the OH is getting a bit fed up of me buying crafty accessories and having to manouver things around to hide/store them away! I personally think it would be easier for us to move to a bigger house so i get my own room haha

Lyn
I picked three swedes and loads of curly kale. Love curly kale and the swedes were quite a good size considering the strange weather we have had this year. Am waiting for my leeks to take off though, they don't seem to have done well at all !!
