docsquid
It hasn't been a brilliant year. First of all I broke my knee really badly in France at the start of March (trying to get my next level ski instructor qualification). Months non weight-bearing and on crutches followed, and then a struggle to get back to fitness, which I had achieved pretty well, given the exercise restrictions imposed. I still had wires in my knee that were holding a bone graft in place and they were removed three weeks ago. This reduced the pain and I was hoping to be able to get back to doing more serious cycling and aerobics (I do a bit of personal training and fitness instructing and used to teach step classes and spinning classes until the knee thing, but now just do nordic walking classes and a bit of cycling limited to under 20 miles, plus a lot of fairly physical work on our wildlife site, but the walking includes intervals up steep hills so is pretty intense). Only now my chest has flared up again. I haven't had a cold but despite that my voice has gone and my lung function is down. The CF clinic at the hospital started me on oral antibiotics and steroids on Tuesday, but the antibiotics have upset my tummy badly and I feel even worse! I did a training session with a client this morning and feel terrible now and had to cancel this afternoon's session with another client. I have two weeks to get better or I'll be started on IV antibiotics. As if that wasn't enough, I hurt my back putting my socks on at the weekend, and after some treatment yesterday, that is now objecting too. And my poor little chickens haven't been let out today because I don't feel well enough to supervise them That's the worst of all - I'm letting them down! I'm hoping a few chicky hugs will make me feel better I'm usually so positive but it seems as soon as I pick myself up something else happens! docsquid
Thank you! DH came to the rescue and let the chickens out and gave them grapes. He is going to get them back into the run later for me too (easier said than done!). So at least I have happy chooks. Going to snuggle up on the sofa and watch some stuff I recorded ages ago on Virgin+ and never get time to watch.
