Just had notification that DD's school is closed again tomorrow, but also including a set of worksheets for her to complete & take back on Friday...if they are open then

She will NOT be impressed when she wakes up in the morning ..... has a day off presented :D ..... a pile of work to do :(

Such is life

I know that 2 of the school are closed tomorrow, not sure about DS's, I think he will stay at home anyway.

-7 here and getting colder, the main road is white and crunchy, there is no traffic we have never known it so quiet in the 16 years we have lived here.

Love the photo of Tali running in the snow Lesley and the snowy Eglus

Blackrocksrock your snow is frightening

I wish I could say the same. I live on a road that is a major route from the Cheshire salt mine that is supplying half the UK with road salt.

All day and all night there is no let up, with convoys of trucks going past.

As I am typing this, I have noticed it's gone suddenly quite quiet... :shh:

Snow day for all staff and pupils

Sheet ice on the site and surrounding roads has made access to the school treacherous for both staff and students.

TBH (from my window) we've not had much overnight, but dad said its all frozen and icy on the roads so is worse then the snow made the roads yesterday. Other schools are open, but our school is on a hill so I can see why ... cars were getting stuck at the bottom on Monday!

WIR and the Go should be being delivered today :D ... wonder if they will be!

I could be wrong Lewis, but please be prepared for a smidge of disappointment if they don't

I'm so glad the raw wind has stopped here, the snow is freezing & very very crunchy underfoot, but at least my ears didn't feel like they'd snap off if touched when I came in from administering hot food & water to the feathered ones :anxious:

I have to venture out at some point today as DH has announced the dog food is low, but he has offered to do the Tesco necessities if he makes it through to work & can get into the Tesco carpark which is on a hilly bit

Stay safe & warm everyone :D

I know

The WIR place said they're still planning to some in this weather  and not heard anything from Omlet, but the have just checked and it says it was dispatched on the 4th  ... it could be in a sorting office rather than with Omlet though

Can't put it up straight away even if they do get here

About half an inch of snow since I got up this morning so now I am dithering again as to go to work or not

We are running short on dog food, cat litter and loo rolls. I haven't got much petrol left in my car, filled up before Christmas and since then I haven't been travelling anywhere near a petrol station.

Not going anywhere but thought I'd defrost the car.

Diesel warning light on when I turned ignition key so stopped before I turned the key fully.

What temperature does diesel gel? It's -8 on weather station and -10 on the car thermometer.

On the radio they were talking about grit not working below -8, and diesel at -9 :?

Doesn't sound good! :(

Is it the diesel warming light......our previous espace had a coil type of light which showed when the fuel was being heated to the correct running temp........check your manual to see what it says....

My oh my that is chilly..........and -13 in Oxfordshire Eggquisite

'Tis beautifully sunny.....with a light snow shower just started.........-5 with -7 windchill here......DH is reserving his earlier decision to go to work until mid morning :anxious:

Well, we haven't had any snow here today, but it had dropped to -12 last night when we came out of the Lowry theatre. Mu OH is having to drive to morcambe and clitheroe and back to macc today - I really hope he'll be ok as he is only in his works car which is a Golf GTI - I would have preferred him to take my 4x4, but he seemed to think he would be fine.Does anybody know what the weather is doing over there?
