Patricia W
Digestives - with cheese for me too. I've not got a sweet tooth so the rest of the biscuit world leaves me cold- and I don't understand Oreos either!
Lavenders_Blue
Choco Liebniz Yummy yummy yummy I once found a version of these called 'Petit Ecolier' (can't remember where, could either have been on holiday in Europe or in Aldi, or both!) the chocolate even has an embossed picture of a schoolboy sporting a rather fetching cape. Ever since then, these biscuits have always been known in our family as 'naughty schoolboys', both the Petit Ecolier and Choco Liebniz versions! CatieB
I can't decide I like most biscuits but to fig rolls, how can you not understand oreos, now I would have trouble not eating the whole packet so I don't buy them and a friend I know makes a choc cheesecake with them as the base (heaven but very very expensive to both your wallet and waisteline) Back to the question - I think probably chocolate hob"Ooops, word censored!"s

Wolfie
That's reminded me - there's a few "Fox's chunkie extremely chocolately cookies" Mr Wolfie has hidden from me (or thinks he has!) residing at the back of the cupboard that if I stand on tippy-toes and if I didn't have such a large belly I could reach, armed with the fish slice ...... jlo
My homemade triple choc cookies. They have oats in them so they must be healthy If you will excuse a slight digression, fruit cake and cheese together is a heavenly combination. OH doesn't understand it and I think that it may be a Northern delicacy but well worth trying!
redhotchick
It's too difficult to choose! We can rule out Jaffa Cakes (Claire G) as they are a cake. (the clue is in the name ) Millionaires Shortbread, or just shortbread, or caramel biscuits, or dark chocolate digestives..I said it was too difficult! sadietoo
Now Major, how do you stand on walnuts/nut of your choice with your cheese? Or christmas cake? I don't. I sit. Never eat standing, 'cos you'll get indigestion. However, whilst seated, walnuts are an excellent idea, as is Christmas cake. Moreover, they're both admirable in helping polish off a bottle of Port that would, of course, otherwise be wasted (and we don't want that....). By preference, I'd finish off with the cheese board and then move onto the nuts and cake. I also find the bitterness of the walnut skins and the sweetness of the cake both clash with the wine, but work really well with Port, hence stuffing my face with nuts after cheese rather than before. It's amazing how hard work it is being a hedonist..... I take it Major, that you enjoy your cheese before dessert? ( as any normal person would and not after in the strange English fashion - why do we do that????) I don't really have a sweet tooth, but I can be tempted by a piece of shortbread..... rabbitfluff
I'm a naughty dunker so it has to be a digestive for me. Never with cheese though. I'm a total turophile and, erm, biscuitophile but together is just wrong, wrong and thrice wrong.
majorbloodnock
I take it Major, that you enjoy your cheese before dessert? ( as any normal person would and not after in the strange English fashion - why do we do that????) Actually, it's not a fashion thing at all; it's simply based on practicalities. Both my wife and I prefer red wine to white, so any wine left over after the main course is almost certainly red, and therefore will go perfectly with some cheese. There's plenty of time afterwards for sweet stuff, walnuts and port, so why spoil the natural flow of things? Now, if we happened to have a white wine with our main course, then I'd happily wander straight onto pud (something lemony, I think...) to finish off the wine before hitting the vin rouge and cheese board. Sorry Major, your preference for bread, made me think perhaps that you followed the French on the subject of cheese eating. The French of course think we are completely barmy for having cheese after a sweet dessert, and whilst not French I can see why they would think that. I take your point regarding the colour of the wine however. My OH doesn't eat cheese as he doesn't like it.......so that must be something other than Wensleydale that he is tucking in to now His preference (when he doesn't eat cheese)is for water biscuits
