Poached
Hi guys Just gone down to my hen this morning to find one of my cages completely destroyed by a fox, it has decapitated and killed all of the hens in their which included 3 cream legbars, A copper blue maran and about 9 hybrids Don't know what to do with myself at the moment and not sure what to do with the bodies
Olly
So sorry to hear that. Is there anyone with you, or can you ask someone for help? What an awful shock for you. I'm afraid I would take pragmatic approach - can you bag-and-bin them, it may seem harsh but it is probably the easiest solution.
jennym
Oh no, I'm so sorry, what a disaster. It sounds heartless but I think the best thing to do with the bodies is to double-bag them and put them in the bin. I've heard that burying them is not legal - can't confirm this myself as I've only heard it from others. Plus I think if you bury them, the foxes will dig them up again which would be pretty terrible to have to deal with after this trauma. I'm so sorry, I can't imagine how awful this is for you. Cheeky Chooky
OMG what a horrendous thing to have happened You must be in a terrible state of shock Agree with the other posters about double bagging. Have you got someone who can help you or do it for you? So sorry *hug*
chicken bark
How awful! Agree with the others to double bag them and bin them. Seems harsh but is the most practical approach. You'll also need to beef up protection and security for any other hens you have left. Can't imagine what you must be going through.
Tweety
I'm so sorry to hear that - what a terrible shock. Agree with the others about dealing with the remains, it's really the only practical solution I'm afraid. I would check on the security of any other runs too, as the fox will probably return. Egluntyne
Very sorry to hear it. What a dreadful shock. I agree with the advice about bagging and binning. Sounds a bit stark, but it is the best way. If you bury them, the fox may find them.

Ain't Nobody Here
What a shock for you and how awful to lose your whole flock in such a horrible way, I'm so sorry . I agree with the bag and bin method - you really have no option with so many to dispose of . How do you think it got in? I can't recall what setup you have.
