alexsampson
Hey guys! So, I was wondering what music does everyone on here like? What genres make you want to sing along? And have you got any weird memories about music that has a connection? E.g. I love eric clapton and cream and my parents and I used to go up to anglesey to see my aunt, and on that 4 hour journey, Eric Clapton used to be playing for most of the journey and I still listen to those same songs today! For music genres I'm quite varied...I like Blues, Rock, Blues rock funk, country, hard rock, classical hip hop, psychedelic and reggae (spelling??) But what do you like? Thanks Alex
Redwing
I have all sorts of music on my ipod, my favourite is is rap music I have quite a few songs saved that hold memories, usually of holidays
chickencam
Pretty much anything, but not so keen on folk and country, but there are still a few songs from both of those genres that I enjoy. Favourite song is Nothing compares to you by Sinead O'connor, and I know she spells is 2 U but that grates on my nerves. I feel that it was written from the heart. loumabel
I love folk music, and am a massive fan of seventies music. Joni Mitchel, Nick Drake, Fleetwood Mac, I am just an old hippie really! I do like some current music too
Cinnamon
I like guitar based rock - modern stuff like The Red Hot Chilli Peppers,Elbow,The White Stripes,The Foo Fighters & Green Day. But there is a mixed bunch on my ipod, including The Carpenters,Cat Stevens,Pulp,Adele,Glen Miller & a lot of Sinatra & other crooners. I don't think anyone has a music type that they exclusively enjoy. If a song speaks to you,it speaks to you, whether it is your usual stuff or not Moon River & Rhapsody In Blue are songs that always makes me go quite unnecessary,& they are about as far from guitar based modern rock as you can get
CatieB
Favourite song is Nothing compares to you by Sinead O'connor, and I know she spells is 2 U but that grates on my nerves. I feel that it was written from the heart. Do you know that its written by Prince? Have seen both of them do it, he does it extremely well too. Favourite genre hip hop, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Snoop (the music not his looks!).. saw him twice last year and would go regularly if I could. Favourite song though is probably house of pain jump around. Generally speaking, and I accept there are exceptions to this rule, I dont like old music. Going to a 60's 70's and 80's night would be my idea of torture. Which makes socialising at my age difficult. Best friend says I'm a teenager inside
LisaP
No particular genre here either, I love MCR, Lostprophets, 30 Seconds to Mars, Avenged Sevenfold, Green Day and my iPod is full of their songs along with a whole range of others, including Aerosmith, Bowie, Human League and Adam and the Ants I think one of my favourite songs of all time (and completely random), is Beautiful by Christina Aguilera. patsylabrador
I listen to pretty much anything. I love to put the ipod on shuffle and have it jump from classical music to rock - modern & old - to Laurel and Hardy to 70s pop and so on. The main thing I can't stand is the modern women singers who twitter and wobble and whine their music. I don't know who they are but they just annoy me. I like singers like Adele, Amy Winehouse and Laura Marling but the other types are like fingernails s"Ooops, word censored!"ing down a chalkboard. Rap has that effect on OH so you'll never find us in a sports shop where they never seem to play anything else.

Lavenders_Blue
I listen to all sorts. It's probably easier to say what I don't listen to - I can't really get into rap/hip hop or the modern angry sounding metally-rocky stuff (I like the older bands like , AC/DC, Aerosmith etc though) or anything that is really repetitive - I like a good tune! I also like anything that comes with a good side helping of cheese like 80s pop and my all time favourite singer is James Taylor who would probably now be described as 'easy listening'. So I like lots of different music!
lillybettybabs
Indie rock/Rock
Space Chick
I like most types of music My most played at the moment are Crowded House, Adele, Pink Floyd, Duran Duran, Take That and Jamiriqui. So I think quite an eclectic mix
Alis girls
Anything really - i listen to capital as kids do and some of the modern stuff is funky - I really like katie Perry's " the one that got away" it makes me cry. I like Rizzlekicks "Hump" its funky, and a group who have a rapping ginger cat Lloyd "dedication to my ex" . But i love disco and 80's stuff too. Hate anything by Rhianna - cant stand the woman or Beyonce - they warble and yell - totally unnecessary in my book.
Ms Marple
Eclectic I was going to post the very same- find it very difficult to put myself into a category
bluekarin
Mainly rock and indie, but I do like allsorts. So, eclectic I guess. Not so keen on country and western and jazz.
snowberry
It's probably easier to say what I don't like : blues, jazz, folk, rap, hip hop, heavy metal, most mainstream popular. Oh dear that's quite a lot isn't it Be a goth, forever a goth I say
Mrs Webmuppet
I'm a rock chick ( although I'm a bit old to be a chick I suppose) with a taste for 'prog rock'.Bizzarrely enough I play classical music on the piano, can't quite manage to play the more modern songs! snowberry
Basically, if I like like it, I like it, I'm not a music s"Ooops, word censored!" Am I alone in being the only person who never ever wanted to be a pop star when I was younger? I've never had an ability to sing at all. Even hymns only get whispered
Looney
I like most things too, definitely depends on mood and where I am though. There are some CDs that I cannot listen to when driving as they irritate me but when at home I'll happily listen to them. OH used to be a total music s"Ooops, word censored!" when he first met me. Now he'll listen to anything too!
Seagazer
I like most genres - probably easy listening more than anything. The concerts I've been to in the last couple of years are The Osmonds , Elton John, Neil Diamond and Arctic Monkeys (the last one was a free ticket and we actually really enjoyed them) I love old songs from the 50's onwards too but I don't like jazz or classical music. Valkyrie
Pretty much everything. From classical to country, Dragonforce (power metal apparently) to Doris Day. Not keen on modern jazz, but I like Dixieland or Benny Goodman/Glen Miller styles. Then I like Japanese, Chinese, a little Indian. I even have Inuit, steel drum band, military bands (love the marines), bagpipes, reggae. Oooh and a bit of African and North American Indian. But overall I lean mostly towards rock. Griffin
I mostly just listen to 'music to slash your wrists to' as Mr Griffin calls it Damien Rice and Nick Cave are particular favourites.
percy049
I mainly listen to rock, with that in the middle of the spectrum and pop and heavy rock/screamo at the other ends. The bands/singers I've been listening to mainly are: You Me At Six, Enter Shikari, Eric Saade, A Day To Remember, Bullet For My Valentine, The Midnight Beast, Our Final Hour
Cinnamon
Ny daughter is onto screamo...I know all those bands. Avenged Severnfold are a favourite too,& she sees Dragonforce regularly (spent most of their last gig in the bar with them, while the support was on ) Then again, she love Beach Boys & The Kinks too!
