Looney
Sorry to hear that news Claret. Such worrying times XX
The Dogmother
Thanks, just heard that they have him on oxygen, his blood oxygen levels are up but he's no better in himself. They are going to try draining his lungs of the fluid tomorrow and Phil is staying wit him until he's taken up to the ward before going back to his mum. It's been a worry in recent years with them living so remotely but luckily they've had Phil there the last couple of years.
Goosey Lucy
Sorry to hear about Phil's Dad. He seems to be in the best place at the moment. x
Geoid
Hope Phil's Dad gets better soon. I got a letter from the Referral Facilitation Service, saying I should have an appointment with a dermatologist before the 14th But, the letter also says I might have to wait 18 months before I start consultant led treatment.... Bought one of those pre-done salad pots for lunch at work tomorrow... and Grumps has already eaten it Also, I worked in HR for a big telecomms company a couple of summers ago and just had "Could have done with you all Summer 'cos we've got an audit coming up." Wish I'd known 'cos been really busy but could have done with some work, said am free for the next 2 weeks!
The Dogmother
Stop scratching Fred! Lewis, I hope you asked Grumps to make you a replacement lunch!
Geoid
Stop scratching Fred! A bit hard, I scratch in my sleep too.
The Dogmother
I used to too when my eczema was bad - wear gloves.
Geoid
I cant wear gloves, I pull them off in my sleep. I got these antihistamines from the GP, which stop the itchiness and knock me out too, they are helping a bit.
The Dogmother
Have you ever tried Camrosa ointment on it? It's marketed as an equine product but a friend reported great results with her eczema so I tried it on mine at night and it really helps; less itching and dryness and no cracking in the cold weather. Geoid
Saw the Dr, had a look at my eyes with an otoscope, said my eyes were not infected, but he is going to treat it as conjunctivitis, so some eye drops were prescribed (he did ask if I wanted a cream instead, but I have enough creams already! ), he also said to wash them with boiled water. Hopefully it will get better in 2 days.
The Dogmother
Fingers crossed Fred. Cold, used T bags (no milk!) are very soothing on sore eyes.
Geoid
The eye drops have worked wonders, swelling is almost gone Taking some piriton to stop the itching and wiping my eyes with cotton wool dipped in cooled boiled water to remove the stickiness. The Dogmother
That's good Fred Phil suffers with Blepharitis sometimes and uses soothing pads to wipe his eyes when it's bad; I'll ask him what they are called as they might help you. bluekarin
I really do feel for you Fred. I used to have really bad eczema on my hands and would wake up scratching them on the woollen blanket edges we used to have before duvets. I hope the docs can given you something to help. On another note: listened to the last Chris Moyles show this morning I know its not a lot of your cuppa, but I loved listening to it whilst making lunches for the kids, ironing school shirts etc. I will miss my ED blasting Mcfly on Mcflyday and Monday nights pub quiz on a Tuesday with the kids trying to work out the answers. At least now I can listen to 6 music breakfast without feeling guilty.
Goosey Lucy
Sorry to hear about the itching, Fred, I hope things get sorted for you very soon. Changing the subject: We have been in our new home for 2 weeks. I'm still moving our things out of the old house as our lease runs til Dec 31st but it's lovely to have a home of our own again after renting for the past 4 years. I finally feel settled on this lovely island.
The Dogmother
That's great news Goosey Girl, how are the boys enjoying the island?
Goosey Lucy
They love it, thanks. They're planning a trip to the park with bikes and scooters, we're now close enough for them to come and go as they please
Lewis
Hope the move goes well! I listened to Chris Moyles on the way into work too, was sad they're leaving but was a really nice show. Think Grimmy will struggle for a couple for listeners for a couple of weeks but should be alright
Looney
I used to enjoy listening to Chris Moyles too, hardly had the chance over the last year though as I'm up too early for his show I know he wasn't everyone's cup of tea but he'll be a hard act to follow I reckon.
