4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

i've just had a call from DH to say he'll be late home as a lorry driver has just crashed into the side of his van. DH was coming down the M6 and was by the junction with the M5 when the lorry pulled out into him and knocked him into the fast lane . How on earth he managed to miss any other traffic or the crash barrier he doesn't know and he luckily managed to pull over onto the hard shoulder. The police have been out and he's got the drivers details etc and is now waiting for the RAC to check the van over as he doesn't know if its just body work damage. The damage he does know about is that the wing mirror, trim and one of the door handles was ripped off and the side doors etc are badly dented.

 

Thank goodness he isn't badly hurt but he said he has got some seat belt burn and his necks sore so am making sure he goes to A&E later.

 

It would happen now when were moving and he has to lift stuff and we need the van wouldn't it.

goodness, how scary and in this icy weather too. He had a lucky escape. Really worrying for you aswell.

 

A nice warm bath/soak might help when he gets home to relieve some pain.

you must have been worried! Thank goodness he's not seriously hurt. Isn't it typical that these things happen at the wrong time?

 

I hope you manage to get help with the move - do you have big strong friends to call on?

Make sure he does get checked over at A&E in case he has whiplash. If he has got whiplash don't forget to tell the insurance company.

Yes Jackie, i am so pleased that no one was hurt. Im hoping my brother in law will help with the move and bring one of his mates. Whiplash is what i want him to get checked for. I'm ok as he sounds more annoyed than anything else.

Oh my goodness! Glad he is okay, but what a horrible thing to happen. We drive down that bit of road a few times a year to visit relatives oop North, and I hate the M5 and M6, especially at the junctions where they join. We nearly got squished by a milk tanker once! Thankfully our brakes worked really well.

Like others have said, you can replace a car - but never your nearest & dearest!

Poor him - and you too!

 

Give him some arnica, it'll help with the aches and pains which will inevitably kick in once the adrenalin wears off.

Gosh, good he got off lightly.

 

There's been a few accidents on the M6 today. I passed a really nasty one j3-2 of the M6 this morning. Unfortunately I don't think everyone survived.

Lucky escape, the last thing you want to bump into you on a motorway is a lorry.

 

Did the truck stop? they sometimes don't even notice that they have swatted someone out of the way.
