what's a 'gooner', Duchess?

I didn't ask for it, I don't want it - TAKE ALL THAT NASTY STUFF AWAY!

A Gooner is an "Ooops, word censored!"nal supporter. The team used to be located in Woolwich in London, south of the river, when it was first set up. Woolwich was home to a military "Ooops, word censored!"nal. Hence the name. The team later moved ground to north of the river, but kept the name "Ooops, word censored!"nal. Gooner is a corruption of 'gunner' - guns/"Ooops, word censored!"nal.

I'm a West Ham fan. When I was small I liked their purple and blue shirts. And a Spurs fan. Because my first crush liked them. So fickle!

Loads here; its now been snowing solidly since 1.30pm, and we already had a couple of inches before then !

YS school closed; took YD to school ("no-one else is going in, MUUM") and then OH had to pick her up at noon. I went to work for the mrning only and then came home in case I got stuck.

Cat not seen snow before as he is only 2 in April - he hates it, and is asleep on the top of the tall bookcase in the kitchen in a sulk.

Hens not too happy either but cheered up with some meal worms.

Kids have made large snowman and I am catching up with correspondence in the (warm) kitchen.

Very pretty outside, but I hope it magically disappears overnight !!

I woke up to a blanket of snow this morning. I wasn't really expecting it as we NEVER get snow. It's not a huge amount but enough to make me smile :D.

I must admit, I love snow, it makes everywhere look so magical. It was Zara's first time seeing the snow, she LOVED it. She couldn't work out how I was throwing, what seems to be a solid snow ball, but it disappears when it lands, so she can't pick it up .

Here are some pics:

I'll post the video of Zara in the snow once it's uploaded.

Tessa, Google is beautiful :D.

We've been told to expect 4 times more snow tomorrow, and they think school will be closed tomorrow, and maybe wednesday :D:D:D

I've just got back from the park, but we couldn't find anywhere selling sledges :( so we improvised with storage boxes :lol: .

Snow can be useful, I got this from the BBC

Snow prints aid burglary arrest

Police followed footprints in the snow and made an arrest following a

robbery at a County Durham club.

Officers were called to the Ivy Leaf Club in Burnhope at 0130 GMT, when

an alarm was triggered, and found cash had been stolen from the safe.

A police spokesman said officers were able to follow footsteps in the

snow to a house in the village.

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and is being

questioned by police in Consett.

Our snow has been a bit wimpy today, occasional light dustings. Until we went down to the church! When we came out it was serious snow - we've had 2" in the last 2 hours and it's now coming down thick and fast :D:D:D OH finished his shifts this morning, so none of us has to go anywhere tomorrow, except middle son whose school is across the road (IF it opens).:pray: For it to keep snowing overnight!

Oh I wish my connection for photobucket would work!!

It hasn't stopped snowing all day. Hubby and I walked to our nearest supermarket mainly just to get out but got a few supplies (chocolate :D ).

Just been out to shut the girls up for the night and measured the snow on the table again (sad I know  ) and its 7 1/2 inches

We checked at the station on our way and they said they were going to try to run some ghost trains tonight but weren't hopefull that they would run properly tomorrow.
