It was really good to see everyone so happy in the snow yesterday. I went out in the back garden and had a snowball fight with DD and our next door neighbour. They made a snowman as well. However, they are not happy this morning as theirs is the only school in the whole town which is open. Still, at least the school run will be quiet.

No school for us either, but no more snow.

What we had yesterday has froxen solid - its lethal out there

Also forecast for more snow on Thursday or friday.

Ditto  Heard that it will be snowing all day Thursday  The children are loving not going to school. Its ok for me as I do not work but I do feel for the families that do.

It stopped snowing here around midnight - just cold and icy now. Jazz is Tiggering all over the drive, chasing cats! The sheep have taken themselves off to the barn.

I'm becoming a bit fed up with the news reports - we usually only get snow on a couple of days a year - and then the odd year when we do get snow and the Country grinds to a halt the media people are up in arms because the snow isn't cleared. I think most people would be up in arms if their Councils invested in expensive machinery which was only used once every 10 years  Of course they all manage it better in the rest of Europe/America/Canada/Russia................ they always have snow every winter and are geared up for it!!

School is off again today. It's minus 4 here ATM but some sunshine which is nice. The photos will look nicer today.

Only Bramble ventured out of the run when I took their fresh water down, the others just watched her strutting her stuff in the snow. They seem much happier this morning now the snow has stopped.

Our road is terrible, my daugther and I walked into town yesterday for a few things and we took the sledge, and Spencer helped pull it back, I think we should have got a husky. He had a brilliant time.

This was him and his friend Minnie jumping on my youngest daugther.

It snowed loads down here overnight...there's now about 5 inches! I get the day off school today though!!! Didn't yesterday as there wasn't much snow, whereas my sister in Slough did! (Teacher)

The chickens don't like the snow at all. They've been hiding in their run, and even then just the clear section as the bottom of it has snow in.

no snow overnight but a light covering this morning :(

sorry, it just doesn't get me excited any more - too worried about falling - I feel very vulnerable :anxious:

I've made some porridge for the girls to try and tempt them out of the eglus - they're having none of this nasty white stuff. Even though the runs are clear of snow they're not putting a foot outside and I worry they're not eating enough.

Oxfordshire barely visible - I think I've said before it's a bad sign when I can't see the hills.

edit: it's falling out of the sky again :(

OH has taken my car to go shopping and I'm not entirely certain that he was actually listening when I explained how to brake gently well before he actually needs to stop...

so far so good but he knows I'm watching

Gorgeous crisp day, with a nice layer of snow, and I got a snow day

My first in 11 years of teaching! I actually set out for school, but gave up, the roads were so slippery, and 5 mins after I got home school was announced closed! How glad am I that I didn't continue the journey.

Kids were all set to go to school, but I let them have a snow day today as well (bad mum I know) I reckon as my son now nearly 11 and this is the first decent snow he's ever seen, they might not get another chance in their childhood. I reckon everyone deserves at least one childhood memory of building snowmen, snowball fights and sledging! :D
