RIP Jade

Very true snowey. No one deserves to go through what she went through though. And if it wasnt for her being the way she was the age range would never have been pushed to be lowered.

Can t help but think about what her poor family are going through, and her poor boys.

Its just a shame it had to be today of all days.

Very very sad news today, Mothers Day. But she has left behind a great legacy, she has ensured her boys future and she has raised awareness of a dreadful illness. Despite being the 'typical Essex Girl' she has shown more savvy, more courage and more humanity than many others. She made mistakes, but who doesn't?

Lets hope that after the funeral the family is left in peace and can get on and rebuild their lives again without this amazing young Mum.

Her poor family :( At least she will be at peace now though.

Yes it is very sad to lose your mother on mothers day but hopefully as they grow up the day will become special in other ways to the usual day, a day to remember their mum.

I wasn't a 'fan' of Jade but I admired the fact that she was a success (i.e. earning money) for being herself. She didn't try and pretend to be something she wasn't which is something that probably can't be said for many people in the public eye nowadays. And well done to her for openly admitting she was selling her story to get as much money as possible for her sons. I just hope that he boys can grow up to become their own people and the media take a step back now.

Agreed, I was never a fan. For a long time she was the epitome of our ridiculous celebrity-obsessed culture, but she has now used that to do great good. If the screening age is lowered or one more woman sees her doctor about those symptoms, then Jade will have achieved much.

She leaves a great legacy of which her husband and sons can be proud. RIP Jade.

one good thing that has come out of this is the number of women - particularly young women - who are going for smear tests.

From what i understand Jade didn't have them regularly and then didn't go for follow up treatment when it was found initially: although I could have misunderstood this. The other issue is that the age for regular smear tests in England is higher than the rest of the UK, sadly.

What has been disappointing is the missing link in the media between what Jade has been going through and the HPV vaccine that young women can get now to prevent just this sort of tragedy.

Whatever one thinks of her actions in the past, I feel so desperately sorry for her little boys.

Couldn't stand all the hype about her when she was alive prior to her illness but what a terrible tragedy. No child should lose their mother at that age and no mother should have to leave her children behind, it's the thing every mother fears.

Good old girl for hanging on until just into Mothers Day - that's Jade Goody right until the end! I applaud her for exploiting herself at every opportunity for the sake of her children, she attracted a lot of criticism for it but who can say what any of us would do - walk a mile in her shoes before throwing stones I reckon.

I hope her sons have a successful life, by that I mean I hope they can prosper and thrive surrounded by their families love, Jades' mother might have been a rubbish mum but she seems to be a good grandmother (sometimes they get the hang of it in the end!)

As for the rest of them, whatever their addictions or convictions, I hope the boys come first, she seemed to have some good practical financial advice so I hope no one has the chance to exploit her or them now she's gone.

On Mothers Day it's a real reminder to think about what it really means, not just the cards and breakfast in bed, it's being together that really matters.

I really feel for her boys. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to lose your mum at such a young age. The way she found out about her illness was awful too. (in the indian big brother house.) She was very brave, and i don't think i could have done it if i was in her situation.

RIP Jade

Very sad.....and of course the funeral will be a media circus! her mother asked this morning if they could have some peace at last!!......I read that there a press 'deal' for her funeral so I doubt they're going to be left in peace for a while yet (Don't know if that's true though). I applaud Jade for trying to secure financial security for her boys' future.

I read an interesting letter in a newspaper during the week and she said that her daughter or daughter in law was ill with cancer and it was upsetting her and the family to constantly have Jade's fight in the news. She said that they had stopped buying the newspaper and watching the television. I must admit I get upset every October when its Breast Cancer Awareness month (I have very lumpy boobs and have them checked every so often and its a horrible thing to go through - not the process but the worry).

I suppose the trouble is if you don't talk about it or have it covered then it ends up as a big taboo as in the 'old' days. Not sure whats best really.

RIP Jade.

At the end of the day, she clearly seemed to adore her two boys and it would appear that they are what motivated her. So I say well done Jade :clap:

Additionally, anything that raises awareness for early check-ups has to be a good outcome.

It seems to have happened so quickly and at least been peaceful in the end. A good friend of mine lost her mum earlier this week too with a similar time- lapse between diagnosis and end.

My thoughts are with all of you experiencing some sadness today having recently lost loved ones or mums.
