HENthusiastic
Well done Claret. Really good news. People who take money and do shoddy faulty work deserve to have to pay up and be named and shamed . Well done for seeing it through.

The Dogmother
Thanks guys I used what little was left in the buiklding fund that I had saved to put the defective work right. It will be a relief to get that money back now and to be able to crack on with finishing the room. The massage was lovely thanks

Jules.
Does anyone else find it stressful like I do when someone comes to do work on your house? My friend & I were discussing this last week. She has had a new kitchen installed, & finishing off was a decorator who we know well from church. She said even having him at home was stressful- I presume its the being disrupted & unable to live like you normally do, ie make a cup of tea when you like etc
Seagazer
We had a bit of a windfall a few years back and we'd had an extension done previously but hadn't had the money to finish it off. So we booked a decorator to come in and paint all the rooms and put up skirting and coving. Hubby also decided he wanted the garden landscaped and they all decided to do the work at the same time. It was so stressfull, wherever I went there were workmen or I was having to make cups of tea, or queue for the loo And none of them were dishy
The Dogmother
I don't find it stressful providing they're doing a decent job, and I'm usually at work anyway. The only bit I hate is if they leave a mess - but then I warn them before they start of the rules.. .... I will leave tea and coffee making for them - they make it themselves. They are only to use the downstairs loo and the seat remains firmly DOWN The house is to be left as tidy as they find it Not much to ask and they know that they have to abide by the rules! It was just this feckless got that got my goat, and that was after the act so to speak.

The Dogmother
I don't want to plan any work until I get the money, I'd just feel like I was putting a hex on it! But will post photos of the work as it gets finished. I really need a few days off to get things done, but isn't that always the way?
