Decorating the girls run for Christmas - ideas?

Recommended Posts

Ok it's a little early for crimbo at the mo but as the shops have the stuff everywhere it got me thinking.

Have any of you/will any of you decorate your girls run/house etc for the festive season? And if so what with? I was thinking maybe some solar powered twinkling lights or some tinsel (Very high up out of nosey beaks reach obviously!)

Any future ideas or past pics would be great.

Also - maybe pressie ideas? I was thinking sprouts! LOL

I'm all for decorating the run.... but not sure how... tinsel could be hazardous, lights ditto... stringed popcorn has been suggested by my BH, (who thinks I'm mad for actually wanting to do this at all, especially as usually I could happily let Christmas go by unnoticed, but for some reasons chickens make it noticeable. :))

But they will get brussels treats and other things, however, I'd like to have a go at those Christmas puddings I saw someone had made.

Mine loved brussel sprout trees last Christmas :D Infact yesterday they had their first sprouts of the year. It's brilliant fun watching 41 chooks each running off with their own individual sprout

That must be a beautiful sight :)

I planted my sprouts for Christmas, however, my girls decided that a growing plant was preferable to waiting for the sprouts to mature and they decimated them

Oh :!: No :!: We will have to decorate the whole of our garden :lol: I'll get my OH on the case right away we only need a couple of hundred set of lights. No. Honestly we could do the trees the chooks roost in though. What a fabulous idea.

Those photos of your run and chooks are amazing.:clap::clap::clap:

Second thoughts on lights in the trees. Could be dangerous for my babes they could get caught up in the wire. So no to that idea. Will have to give it some more thought :think::think::think::think:
