Snow

Recommended Posts

Just taken the dog down the garden - in the last hour we've had an inch of snow! It's -2 but the snow sounds wet, so hopefully it'll be gone by morning.

The bbc weather forecast tonight said the freezing weather could last into the NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do the BBC know!!! We had a big fall of snow yesterday evening and then a thaw, it looks horrid outside, but it does mean I can clean the cube and eglu out more easily at least.

Very cute dog and kiddies Paola :D

We are starting to thaw! Yay

My ES's friend came over yesterday by car. I asked what the roads were like and he said main roads fine but that our road was awful. We are on a bit of a hill. I just hope it keeps thawing, got to get out to buy YS's birthday present.

We had over an inch in just an hour last night, a good two inches in total, and it was still snowing heavily when I went to bed. We have virtually nothing now, it's all melted, I'm just a little disappointed. Glad I took pics yesterday!

Same here...all gone...it's almost like we imagined it - it's positively balmy out there this morning!!

You can go off some people Paola!:lol::lol::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen: Now they're very festive coloured piccies.

It's melting here - I can see pathways that weren't swept. The road is still an ice rink though. Heard some sliding cars this morning heading for the centre of the roundabout instead of around it!

Grracee because it's dark the flash is lighting up the flakes really well - very atmospheric.

I feel we need a photo to prove it. We don't know what they look like - can you remind us?

Wah hay :D I can see my garden. Its green :D

Loads of wind and rain in the night and as if by magic nearly all that snow has disappeared. Top hen who hasn't put her beak outside her house for 3 days charged out to the feed bowl and its all virtually back to normal. HURRRRAYYYYY :D

I finally managed to battle my way out yesterday, with the help of my lovely neighbours we dug out enough of the drift to get my Landy out so I could go to Leeds and get some new tyres fitted. Then I went to Sainsburys in Huddersfield which was like Christmas Eve shopping, packed to the doors, absolutely awful. Ran a few errands for mum then home. Helped to tow a Japanese 4x4 out who'd got stuck on the hill by my house last night. Then this morning looked out and the drifts are huge, they are pretty much filling in the gap between the two walls over a distance of about 20 ft and are 3-4ft deep!

Here are some more photos!!
