Talking of end of an era.

My old school had an open day for all it's past pupils...

...because it's going to be torn down. :(

It's going to be an academy of sport and science. The towns sports centre is also going to be demolished and re-built on the old school tennis courts and car park. The new academy building has been built on the site of the old playing field so a complete re-shuffle.

Was quite odd looking through my old classrooms one last time.

Impressed with our dustbin men. Some people had foolishly left their bin bags out and the foxes had scattered the rubbish everywhere. The bin men cleared it all up off the road and pavement. Good blokes.

The guys who do our bins are really good too. If they see me struggling to drag the bin up the drive ~(it's not long but is on a bit of an incline), they help me out and then bring it back :D. And no, I don't do this on purpose now :lol:

I don't have anything new that's interesting to add today. Sorry!

 is it a marquee?

Got back from chook window shopping. Friend bought a beautiful partridge wyandotte bantam and a copper something (hybrid like a pepperpot). Both are really cute and safely installed in her run with my little house attached. She has an eglu with loads ofextensions now divided in two. 8)

Was also chuffed to see a chicken quilt I made her hanging in her kitchen :D

The death of Highlander Scott Mclaren yesterday was horrible & brought back my main terror when ES was in Afghanistan. I hope I could have dealt with the worst news but the thought of him being captured, that horror, I don't know. We talked about it & he said it was something they thought about & made arrangements amongst themselves. I accepted that but it's awful. My thoughts are very much with the soldier's family. What a nightmare of a day.

went on some home visits today to visit my new children for sept..

as I got out of the car at one of the houses the strap on my shoe snapped, and as they were leather flip-flop types they just sort of flapped around..me and my ta stood there for a minute, then i gathered myself and walked to the house we were visiting with me shoeless...was so glad no-one was in!!!!!!!!

Just caught up with this thread..Wow OSH...that photo is spectacular.

We have just got back from a fabby perfomance of the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain in Chichester Cathedral.. they went down a storm, (mostly) although sadly "Chichester" (it's a condition, which affects a certain type of person around here and involves them being both shallow and pretentious at the same time) was present tonight in some of the audience and I think some of the people tonight hadn't read the programme properly and were disappointed that it wasn't a proper orchestra  ....

Oh my goodness, I have just watched Ollie Cat being chased up our drive by a Hare :lol: Ollie jumped up onto the wheelie bin, ears flat, big wide eyes and a bushy tail. I was standing at the porch door. The Hare just carried on past me and headed towards the end of the garden and the veg garden, it had better stay away from my Caulis and Cabbages

We have had a clear out of the drawers and under bed area in our bedroom today. We found the letters that OH and myself wrote to each other when he was at uni. and have been reading some of them to the children. I was about ED's age (nearly 18) when I wrote a lot of them doing uni visits ets, quite weird
