I found a couple of ball/prom dresses in the loft today, I'd made them myself and wore them in the late 80s, early 90s. It was a real hoot going through all the stuff. It was all so familiar. Sadly, lots of the suitcases had got damp (they were in the garage) and one even had a huge lump of fungus growing inside it . Some stuff just had to go in the bin . We found some silverware which my mum (who is 87) said was her granny's and a silver christening cup with my dad's initials, dated 1921 . I loved this t-shirt . Didn't know I still had this little kimono . I'm sure there are photos of me wearing this over my swimming costume in Japan. My brother says he had a blue one . I loved this . I'm going to see if I can get it working again . Found a school jotter filled with Higher Latin, a school sweatshirt, my uni scarf and a tiny kilt which does fit round my waist (but should really go round one and a half times ). Also found a Japanese caligraphy set, a mini roulette set and loads of Japanese language books (my mum's). Skippy was my most favourite programme as a kid (well, that and White Horses) In fact, Skippy was my imaginary friend and I once made Mum turn back in the car when we set off on holiday without him. Some beautiful clothes there. You look stunning in that dress. You want to get & wear it, it's lovely & really suits you. I too would have been 5. I was 16 in 1979, don't have any clothes left but I was very fit and rather skinny at the time so I definitely wouldn't fit into any of them now.
