I have not been on the forum as much as usual for a while as on the 15th my DD gave birth to a lovely baby girl .

 

All a bit quick as she did not make it to hospital and the midwife did not get to the house in time either, fortunately a paramedic did get there in time. I was supposed to be her birth partner but baby was a few minutes old by the time I arrived .

 

This is DDs third daughter so I now have three beautiful granddaughters, the older ones are 4 and the eldest was 9 yesterday They both love their new baby sister.

 

I will try to do battle with photobucket and post some photos.

They do say that later births are quicker.... The same thing happened with my sister 8 weeks ago!! I was meant to be having my nephew whilst my sister and her hubby were in hospital. When the phone went in the night I answered saying "It's happening then" only to be told it had already happened.... 2 hr labour, baby delivered in the bathroom by the paramedic, midwife arrived afterwards!!

 

I rushed up to have my nephew so my BIL could follow my sister and the baby to hospital. My nephew, who woke as his baby sister started crying, was very excited and completely unphased by it all

My nephew arrived on the kitchen floor with only my sister in law and my other 4 year old nephew present. She opened the door to the ambulance crew holding the baby! Once she got over the shock she thought it was the best labour ever 20 minutes from first niggle to delivery! She's not having any more as she was afraid if she sneezed in late pregnancy she would have the baby!
