chickencam
Thanks, not too bad, quite impressed with healing so far. Still a bit spaced from the anaesthetic but I have managed to get out for a short walk every day and have slept pretty well for the last two nights. I have been well looked after too. Will potter about a bit more today I think but will be guided by how I feel.
dancing cloud
A bit late to catch up on this, and sounds like you're doing well. Sending you lots of virtual (and very gentle) ((hugs)) from me and mine.
Mars
Best wishes and hugs Chickencam Nowadays most people with breast cancer do well, especially if they are young and the lesion diagnosed early You will be fine, hens are good in those situations as a relaxation tool. Blackrocksrock
Glad to hear you are doing so well - I went back to work 3 days after mine and it was too early - take your time and feel 100% before you go back to strenuous things. Take care
chickencam
Just to update you. I have HER2+ cancer which is more aggressive. In the plus side it has been caught early and hadn't spread to my lymph nodes and I consider myself to be very fortunate to have found it when I did. Also this type is much more common in young women so I am obviously young on the inside On the downside it does mean that I have to have chemo and Herceptin injections and I am in this for the long haul from a treatment point of view but the long term outcome is still looking positive
mullethunter
Mixed news then Chickencam but great attitude as always. Together with that and our wonderful hard working NHS you'll see it off.
soapdragon
Sounding positive as you caught it early.....wishing you well and sending virtual support and hugs.

The treatment is so good these days and you will be well looked after. Bug hugs and we are all behind you.
Daphne
Thanks for taking the trouble to tell us CC; it can't be easy. Do take all the help and support you need, from friends and family, it will really aid you and your body during the chemo phase. Onwards

Grandmashazzie
I too have been thinking of you. Not the results you would have hoped for but also not the worst. Keep positive and be kind to yourself.
chickencam
Thanks all, I was unkind to myself last night physically because I had a good night out involving intoxicating beverages but it was good for my soul. A good meal followed by a quiet drink followed by a good sing along to great live music. I will be good to myself from now on to build up my health before my treatment starts. I am glad that I am overall much fitter and healthier than I was at this time last year so hopefully fighting fit in the fullest sense. bluekarin
I just wanted to wish you well in your treatment and hope it kicks this cancers butt! I would have done the same as you, in having a big blowout before getting my head around whats to come. Don't deny yourself any nice treats, but obviously don't go crazy. And don't forget we are all here for you, for the good and the bad times ((hugs))

chickencam
Thanks everyone. Sorry I have been rather disloyal recently and have been frequenting a breast cancer forum I am seeing the oncologist on Thursday hopefully to get my treatment plan. I have done loads of research and I am going to try fasting before chemo which is supposed to mitigate some of the most toxic effects. Might try one cycle without first to see how I react and if it will be worth it though.
Grandmashazzie
Hope all goes well. It is great to gen up on everything and write any queries down before appointment so you don't come away thinking oh I forgot to ask that. Am sure you have found breast clinic nurses are brilliant, very knowledgable and approachable. A lot at our local hospital seem to be funded by Nacmillan. Cat tails
Be kind to your skin. Friend of mine had chemotherapy for breast cancer too and her skin got quite bad at one point. She used lots of greasy, vaseline types of lotions. And go kick some butt!
