My Dad

Recommended Posts

POet, just wanted to add my condolences to all the others. Hope you and your family are bearing up - it must be such a hard time, but as everyone says, try and keep focussed on the good times and that you had him for the time you did. Lots of love, Alison

So sorry for your loss - those words about the ship are wonderful - my Dad was a master mariner and those words just got to me - many a time I spent sitting at Crosby front at the mouth of the Mersey saying goodbye to him sailing away.........

I'm sure all your wonderful memories will give you great comfort in the future and you've always got us here to chat to.

Take care

thanks everyone xxx

Hi Sheila, the one that Jilius posted by Henry Van Dyke on one of the previous pages of this thread, dad adored his ships and it seemed fitting somehow.

This is him with me and my sister (quite a while ago! LOL) He used to take us to see ships at the docks quite a lot.

I think I was attempting some sort of salute!?

I love this one of him, that expression on his face was just so typical of him, he had a really kind face :D Oh, that's me too by the way.
