The Weather Thread #2

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

Do you know that there are some areas of the UK which have not had any snow whilst other areas have had lots.

Well here in Preesall near Blackpool we have NOT had any snow or snow men or anything for the children to play in.

Todays weather was dull and overcast in the morning and in the afternoon it rained!!!

Who has had our snow?

How has the weather been like in the rest of the UK and other parts of the world?

Best regards

Ian & Valerie

We were forecast snow from 9pm last night - but we didn't get any until a few flakes around 3pm.

Which means ........that my daughter, SIL and Lauren and Jake have made it to Luton and the flights are all OK......

It is cold and dry here - still snow on the drive and it's lethal.

Yesterday DD said that Basingstoke had a few flakes just before I picked her up. I didn't see any at all. We had a bit of rain but not too bad. DS said it was raining a little when he came home but again nothing. We still have snow left in some patches, still quite a lot on next door's lawn but my lake has now drained away and I don't squelch so much when I go down to the cube.

This morning patchy grey and sun trying to sneak through - lots of silver linings up there.

We still have some snow but we've had a lovely Spring like day :D

The lawn is just mud and the ducks run is soooo muddy - I slipped on my way to collect their eggs - very scary  I left the run by holding onto the wire mesh and could'nt get to top up their food dish, they had to make do with all the corn I had left in the bucket :?

Well Ian it was great when I got home at half four to Belper 8 miles from Derby, West of Bridlington and East of Llangollen, North of London and south of Garforth.

I was able to enjoy the mild air and the blue sky while the chickens roamed the snowfields of the foothills of the Peak District. (a very small part of them :D ) - is spring coming early? My snowdrops are flowering in the balmy air.

Same here. The forecasters have changed their minds again and Sunday is now supposed to be wet. I think I'll just look out the window and decide for myself - or cloud watch.

Anyone interested in clouds, I can recommend "The Cloudspotter's Guide" by Gavin Pretor-Pinney, which I got for Christmas last year.
