House Hunting/split due to family Tragedy

Recommended Posts

Shirl, thank you for updating us, it can't be easy talking about it. I really wish you had better news, the pain ad heartbreak you must be feeling is just horrendous. Don't feel guilty for wishing your brother would die, you are not wishing his death but merely an end to his pain and that's a very loving feeling.

I really hope that 2010 brings some peace for you all xx

Helly Welly has said exactly what I was thinking.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. It doesn't change things for Tom but it helps that people can see it is horrendous. I feel I should be coping better than I am but seeing others write that they understand helps.

Apologies for not updating before but we haven't really had any good news and it isn't nice to bring the mood down. After all we come on here to try and forget the realities of life (and get some help with the chooks!)

A huge thanks to everyone.

Shirl, please don't ever feel bad or awkward about posting any news on here..........it must be good for you to have an outlet where "Ooops, word censored!"ody judges you and you can say what you think without having to consider personal feelings which may be upset if you were talking to close family........we are impartial and totally supportive....your family responsibilities are huge with your small people & hubby and Tom added to the mix, if we can share your burden just a little & help you, we are here :anxious:

Huge {{hugs}}

Well said Sha. In this forum, we've always been allowed to say whatever we want and we would never mind if it's positive or negative, everyone needs to unload sometimes.

And you shouldn't be coping better than you are, you are coping as well as you can, there is no right thing to feel. I can't imagine the pain you are going through, just making it through the day is coping enough.

We are all here for you Shirl, whatever you need us for xx

Shirl, so sorry to read the updates. You may feel you are not doing well in this terrible time, but the fact that you are still in there, coping, proves otherwise. I think you must be an amazing person.

I DO so hope that 2010 brings you, Tom and you family and friends relief.

best wishes

xxxx

So sorry to read the update on Tom, what an awful situation.

You are coping admirably. As others have said all you've ever thought about and wanted is what is best for Tom. You must be feeling exhausted by this point.

I thought I'd share some good news with you all.

Today we had news that Tom has been selected to be part of a research programme at the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre in Cambridge. Tom will undergo various tests and from that the Centre will be able to tell us for definite what awareness Tom has. It is the best news for us as a family. It is 10 months today since his trauma and we still have no idea if he has any awareness, so we go through the routine of seeing him and playing him DVDs etc in the hope that he might be enjoying them. If he has some awareness I'm sure it will make a difference to how the staff treat him.

We have no idea when he will be tested, but it will take about a week and he will have to stay in Cambridge so I'm sure it will take a fair amount of organising. I'll be sure to let everyone know the results.
