It is minus 9 in my garden and minus 7.1 in the cube already.......Wish they would try and predict the weather a bit better.

I've turned the boiler temperature down, so the temperature in the living room is max 15c. If I'm in all day I'll be lighting the fires. I don't want to waste money on fuel if I can be comfortable with a lower temperature. After all, it's been -11 outside, and when you walk into 15 degrees it feels like a sauna, if only momentarily :D

No idea what the temp is, apart from blimmin cold, although metcheck says -2 feeling like -6. All I know is that I've left the heating on continually and the house still feels cold :( I've even had our bedroom rad on all day as the room was like a fridge. Turned it off now though.

For tomorrow metcheck says no snow, accuweather says snow and the fabulously accurate  BBC says fog all day :?

Lewis has some news for you, but I shan't spoil his surprise....

May have been to Cotswold Chickens for 3 christmas presents ;)

Will post photos tomorrow when I can get some in the light! :D

Snowing again here!

The roads weren't too bad until we got to Banbury and they were really slushy - saw one bump.

No snow for us yesterday but very cold. DD's school was open but only for pupils living in the town. School open to everyone today, it is the last day of term.

Temperature at 4.30pm was -13c with thick freezing fog all around the Cottage. DS picked me up from a nearby by Village and the car was registering -4c and the skies were clear. Four miles down the road and the temperature plummeted. We live in a cold little hollow with our very own weather :anxious: .

Spent a sleepless night worrying about frozen pipes. I got up every half an hour through the night to run taps and switch on the shower to let the warm water through the pipes.

Temperature at the moment is -17c.

Snow overnight here too, and it's still falling. Chooks very disgruntled. Pop hole has frozen open (could be worse, could be frozen shut  ) so was open all last night and chooks could get themselves up this morning. However... when I went out to see them at 8.15 this morning, only Dorothy had made it out of bed, the others were all still sat in the coop, looking out the pop hole as if to say, 'You expect us to come out in this? Not on your nelly!' Their run is covered too, so not even snowy inside!

My mother is panicking about Christmas - all they have to do is to get to me. I have told her that if the roads are dicey and Phil's folks can't get out either, then I will just reschedule and have Christmas on another day - she can't get her head around that... it will be the same - family all together, just the day will be another one - she's never been keen on change :? .
