Ain't Nobody Here
It doesn't sound callous at all. You never know how you'll react - I cried buckets at my half-sister's funeral but didn't shed a tear at my birth mother's (I hadn't known either of them very long). Olly
Not callous at all. It's quite likely that one of the reasons you were crying is because of the memory of former losses. As ANH says, you never know quite how it will take you.
Plum
So sorry Snowberry. Cry all you like, it doesn't have to be rational.

chickencam
Like the others have said, grief is unpredictable. When my granny died I didn't cry even at her funeral, but a month later I sorted out her possessions with my aunty and I spent a couple of hours that night completely inconsolable. Take care, you are probably in shock as well as grieving.
Chucky Mama
Off the the BBC to be in the audience of The Voice auditions to be aired in the spring. MIL is potty about Tom Jones. He had better be there.
The Dogmother
Had one of those evenings yesterday.... realised when I was feeding the cats that I'd forgotten to take a new bag of dog/cat meat out of the freezer so I opened a can of pilchards in tomato sauce (a favourite with my lot and a stand-by too) doled it out and left some in the can for the dogs this morning; as I picked the can up (it was a bit slippy with spilt sauce) the whole thing catapulted down my front... so, slimy, smelly pilchards and tomato sauce down the front of my smart work clothes and all over my work shoes too It's all in the wash now and the shoes have had a scrub. The Dogmother
An example of how it pays to shop around... The wheels on the van need aligning so I called around a couple of local places to get prices... one (on a business park) charges £45 for four wheel aligning and say that it takes 2 hours, which means that I have to wait until Sunday (when they are closed )when Phil is around to bring me back, or they will collect and deliver it. *Hmmm* not impressed Called another tyre specialist - they can do it for £29 and it's a while you wait job taking no more than 20 minutes... RESULT!
Lewis
I need to do the same + take ma car in to have the drivers electric window fixed - motor sounds so think its just come off the runners but don't trust myself to fix it! Ditto the back windscreen washer, have tried to unblock it but think the pipe must be caught/blocked further down along the side of the car. Neither are major, just a pain Need to find the time and rather take it somewhere back in Brum, don't know why though! I drove past a VW place on the way to the Welsh National show on Sunday who do MOT's for £39! No idea how much usually but sounds cheap to me! chickencam
Spent a lovely 5 minutes watching a pair of tiny Bluetits looking in one of our nest boxes this morning, they were so cute, how does something that small survive the winter?
PurpleTree
Went to our nearby Peacocks this morning as I had a gift card that I won in a raffle last year. Thought I'd better spend it before they disappeared, spent ages trying to find something to buy. Eventually found a top & a pack of socks for the baby, went to the till & was told they are no longer taking the gift cards as they are in administration Apparently if I go on the website I can find out how to get the money from the card. Ain't Nobody Here
Hope you get something for it, it'd be a shame for it to go to waste . I feel rotten today. Sore head and throat, blocked nose, dry cough. Typically, it's my day off too . Managed to take my mind off it for a while by setting up temporary accommodation for my new chickens who arrive on Sunday .
LolaLayla
I was out in the rain cleaning up the old eglu for the new girls and setting up the other one for Lola and Layla. The Dogmother
My new little araucana bantam (Dorothy) has settled in really well with the rest of the gang, in fact she's the only one laying at the moment After laying all through the winter due to an early moult the others have now started a go-slow! Not a very good photo of her; this was her first morning in quarantine and she was nervously rushing about; I hadn't even put any litter in the run yet. Lewis
Can just make out a head! Just had a massive chat with ma flatmate. Was getting really annoyed with him 'cos he gets twice the amount of money in bursaries + grants than the rest of us do with our loans and he doesn't have to pay it back. Has got an X box, PS3 and a new PS3 over christmas, old PSP and the new PSPthing on order, always wasting money on games + DVDs then moans about paying rent over Summer. Has finally sunk in if he saves now he can pay rent and still have money over Summer!? Said how I've worked (quite hard) on farms for 5 years and only had £1600 to show for it which went on the car, but he just wastes money. Had to explain about applying for halls for next year to him - he thinks he's guaranteed and I've been saying we're bottom priority. Had to find the Uni PDF to prove we're bottom for it to finally sink in! Was annoyed with me at the start of the convo an hour ago but has said sorry and thanks now

Sam Palmer
We were bought one of those snow shovels before Christmas. Fortunately we haven't had to use it for the dreaded s-word yet. However, OH has found a good alternative use for it. Apparently it's the perfect size and length for shovelling the bark out of the Cube run without having to crouch down and get inside to access the tricky bit at the back by the wheels. He's not in my good books today however, after going off to Tesco at 3pm, saying goodbye to me in the garden and going indoors and locking the kitchen door behind him before going shopping and locking me out of the house in the back garden for over 2 hours. He owes me big time for that one!

Cheeky Chooky
My Nan passed away on Friday morning She managed to see her 89th Birthday on Monday, bless her. Lavenders_Blue
Watched the film '127 Hours' last night - based on a true story. I'm not usually much of a film watcher, but I was gripped by this. It was quite disturbing at the same time though, I found it difficult to get to sleep afterwards as the film was churning through my mind for ages.
