Ain't Nobody Here
Sorry to hear about your colleagues, Cinnamon . I suppose the poor girl will be in hospital for Christmas ? I drove up to collect ES's things (not him, he has a night out tonight ) from Uni and all the motorway signs were saying "Snow forecast tomorrow" . Charlottechicken
Hope your colleagues recover OK Cinnamon. I've been up the Clent hills this morning and got caught in a flurry of snow, it was really bitter up there. I could see across to the Malverns and there was indeed snow on top! The Dogmother
Phil was in the Malverns yesterday Liz, on the Herefordshire side seeing his brother; he said there was snow on the tops. None here altogether we had sleet showers while I was cleaning out the animals today. Very icy now and the path is like a skid pan
Sammiboo
We are due to drive to North Wales tomorow, i hope that it is a bit milder by then, it looks as though it might be. I think North wales is ok atm, I was at chester and there was a bit of snow but not enough to affect driving i would have thought. I was lucky today as it hailed down just before i cleaned out the chickens, the odd shower while i was cleaning them out, no snow but when i locked them up approx 5pm, the standing water on the cube had frozen already! anyway, wish your workmates all the best sarah terrible thing to happen, always seems worse this time of year too

Seagazer
Anybody know if it's going to be snowy in Derby area as we're up there tomorrow afternoon for canoe polo tournament.
Plum
No - Cold with a frost in places to start. Staying mostly dry with early cloud breaking allowing some good sunny spells to develop by the afternoon. Generally light winds. I wouldn't fall out of your canoe though brrrrr the rain was bloomin cold on my nut this afternoon.

Seagazer
Thank you Plum, luckily it's held in an indoor swimming pool (at least I think it is)! I'll put some blankets in the car just in case.
Christian
Snow shovel for the garden & road ready, huge bag of salt, snow shovel and emergency box in the car and not a whiff of the white stuff. Typical.

chickencam
We went to DS's sixth form evening last night and it was raining heavily until half way there and then it suddenly turned to heavy snow, in the space of 5 minutes there was a thin covering and it was coming at us horizontally, OH said he felt like he was flying the Millenium Falcon through an asteroid field, it was very surreal. The sky was totally clear by the time we left a couple of hours later.
Lavenders_Blue
A minute amount of sleet fell here yesterday, nothing to get excited about though - it turned to rain later.

Thanks for making me smile, that's one of the best sentences I've ever seen on the forum, what an image that description invokes. I'm keeping an eye out for Herts/Essex/ Suffolk for tomorrow (Sunday). I'm hoping it's far enough South and East to stay clear. My trip is 2 hours each way (if M25 is moving) with a 3 hour turn around, so I won't go if it's hazardous, would appreciate any first hand Sudbury area reports, thanks! Ain't Nobody Here
I love that description too . We've had a few flurries this week but only a sprinkling on the hills remains.
