The Dogmother
If you want to see some before and after photos of my house, click here! Just catching up on this; you've done an amazing job Fred I bet you're really proud. I was wondering the other day... did you get your eczema sorted with the doctor? Geoid
I was wondering the other day... did you get your eczema sorted with the doctor? No, but it hasn't flared up again, which is good.
Geoid
Don't forget to change the forum time back to GMT. Hello Winter! If you have forgotten how just go to: User control panel > board preferences > is summer time/DST in effect and select no.
Egluntyne
I didn't change mine in the spring, and the forum didn't break. It's correct now, along with the clock in my car.

Ain't Nobody Here
Just had a text from ES which had me and OH in stitches . He asked how long he should put keish in the oven for. Quite creative spelling for quiche, I suppose .
The Dogmother
My car is always the last one to get changed too, mainly because it's one of those non-intuitive things that I have to look up each time it needs doing ANH, since our company joined a larger group, we get regular email missives from the CEO; I went through the last one with a red pen and corrected all the grammatical errors. I was sooo tempted to send it back to him!
Lavenders_Blue
1 million good girl points to Tango today. We got back from our afternoon walk, opened the back gate (Tango off the lead) only to find Onyx had flown over the chicken fence and was having unauthorised free range time in the garden. My heart was in my mouth for a second, thankfully Tango must have been as surprised as me as she didn't move. I quickly grabbed hold of her and shoved her through the back door and then went off to capture the escapee and have stern words with her. Almost exactly a year ago Tango slipped into the garden unsupervised, chewed her way into the chicken pen and killed one of the hens I can't tell you how proud I was of her today for not chasing Onyx. Note to self - make sure the dog is on a lead before coming through the gate in the future. This is not something I would wish to put to the test a second time! The Dogmother
Phew! Good girl Tango. I doubt that mine would have given me the chance to grab them.

Lavenders_Blue
Phew! Good girl Tango. I doubt that mine would have given me the chance to grab them. I am truly surprised that she didn't react, she still charges at the hens through the fence sometimes when she gets overexcited! Plus she had just been out chasing partridges in the fields! The Dogmother
Mine both have a VERY strong prey drive so I only let them out when the chooks are in their run, the dogs know that they're not allowed to chase up and down the run or rush at them. I have no doubts though that they'd kill any they found loose.... it's just their breeding and training.
Lavenders_Blue
Aye, it's in the blood isn't it. Merest whiff of a phessie/bunny/hare/deer when we're out on a walk though and off goes my little bog-off dog She catches the odd one too! Alis girls
Well I've heard of road kill - but you should have a good supply of game/venison for the winter LB.
snowberry
I took Eldest, who is 19, clothes shopping today. I think he needs to get some practise in by himself. He was looking at socks for himself & asked if the sizes went by age
The Dogmother
A bit like kiddies' pants, which are sized by age then?
Lavenders_Blue
Well I've heard of road kill - but you should have a good supply of game/venison for the winter LB. I think I may have made Tango sound a bit more proficient than she is - I feel I should probably point out she has never caught either a deer or a hare! bluekarin
YD went trick or treating with a group of friends last night and some mad old bat of a woman accused them of stealing some money from a milk bottle on her doorstep. She made them all turn out their pockets - fair enough - but she then proceeded to drag my daughter along by the neckline of her clock to the house of her friend and wouldn't let go, even when the parents were trying to get her off! Needless to say, YD and friends were upset. Police have been told and came round at 11pm last night and I am currently waiting to hear of any updates. Dog is desperate to go out for walkies, but I can't go anywhere till they phone
Alis girls
Shocking - hope she is alright and you get it sorted. We only had 3 lots last night of T and T's. Quietest ever. OH thinks its due to Jimmy Saville thing - who knows. No sensible parent would let young kids out to wander round streets alone. Ran over a pumpkin in the street - squashed to bits Not sure why it was in the road. Anyway hope your daughter is ok. How old is she? Love ALI
bluekarin
I've yet to hear from the Police but the friends mum thinks she knows who the woman is. My daughter is 12 (13 at the end of this month) and she is ok now, just her neck is a bit sore and I think feels bruised.
Geoid
Got a new phone line installed this morning, and it doesn't work , have to get an engineer out to fix it Also got a letter from the council saying my house is council tax exempt until the 30th of December 2099 bluekarin - I hope this woman gets a caution or something, why would you leave money outside anyway?! Hasn't she heard of a cheque?! Hope your YD's neck feels better soon!
bluekarin
How do you get one of those letters Fred?! She is feeling much better thank you. The police have found out who it was - apparently a 77 year old retired teacher! She won't be prosecuted as we didn't want to go down that route. We are going down the restorative justice Local resolution route where the woman will be spoken to very severely about how her actions are not acceptable and how they affected my daughter. Oh and apparently, she found the money
Geoid
How do you get one of those letters Fred?! Im a student, students are exempt from paying council tax, I dont know why it lasts so long!
