chickencam
I just answered the door to the plumber, after getting out of the bath, running around trying to find my dressing gown and in the process slipping flat on my back on the bathroom floor screaming and uttering a suitable bathroom expletive, which he had heard because the bathroom window is above the front door. He was very concerned for my welfare thinking that I had fallen down the stairs. He was already in my bad books I left a message on his answerphone about my non flushing downstairs loo on Friday and he hadn't got back to me. I called another plumber and left a message on his answerphone yesterday and he hasn't got back to me either. This morning's plumber is a neighbour, he only lives 4 doors away, but is very hard to get hold of, he once promised to come round to do a quick job and then completely forgot. He does at least do a good job once you get him here I had already got out of the bath to answer the phone thinking it might be one of the plumbers about 5 minutes earlier, but it was Payment Protection Insurance ( had to edit this because on first posting I had a little brown chicken) call and I was so late having a bath because our postman seems to have stopped ringing the doorbell when she has a parcel and just puts a card through, so I have been waiting for her to come before getting washed. Grrr what a morning, and is so dark it feels light nightime. I am ok but for feeling a bit shocked and having a very sore elbow where I clouted it on the door frame. Geoid
Just had my Metropolitan Special Counstable day 1, which was a written test and interview. I thought most of it went well, apart from a few little mistakes. Just got to wait for the results now...

patsylabrador
About 15 years ago I lost my wedding ring and engagement ring on a scout camp and resigned myself to never seeing them again. Or that's what I thought. Clearing out a drawer in desk and there they were right at the back. How that happened I've no idea but it's lovely to see them again. What a lovely find Did you pop them there for safe-keeping before you went?
Egluntyne
What a lovely surprise for you patsylabrador. Did they still fit?
patsylabrador
It's one of those drawers that you hide things that you might as well throw away but think you should keep. I was often distracted back then so must have unthinkingly put them in there. I can just about squeeze them on my ring finger but they were size O and I recently bought a P for that finger. They're too big for the little finger so I might just wrap them up and put them somewhere safe. I could just about wear them but I have a horror of rings being stuck on. Alis girls
Did you tell your OH Patsy and get replacements in the meantime - probably have 2 lots now. I am shocked how little I remember of the last few years. I was so busy and stressed bringing up kids and holding down a job - i am braindead. patsylabrador
OH offered me replacements over the years but I never wanted any. I figured that they wouldn't feel the same so I didn't bother. Don't worry. Life becomes more rational as they grow up if not easier.
chickencam
That is a great find. We lost our original marriage certificate when we moved into our current home 19 years ago, we still hope that one day it will fall out of a book. It was witnessed by our two Grannys now both no longer with us.

Lewis
4am and I've finished 4 assignments ready for tomorrow! Why they don't spread out submission dates I have no idea?!
Purplemaniacs
I was wondering why you were posting at 4 in the morning but assignments due in explains it It was bad enough having one due in, so four must be awful. Well done for getting them done Chrissie
The Dogmother
Well done for all the hard work Lewis. Did anyone else see the moon this morning? A very bright full moon with Jupiter right beside it Oh, and I heard a cockerel yesterday morning at 5am... reckon that someone in the road that backs onto us has chickens, although why they think it's OK to keep a cock when the houses are all so close is another matter that will be mighty unpopular when it kicks off at 4am in the summer... so long as folks don't think it's mine! bluekarin
I saw it last night at around 8.30pm when I was taking Neela for a walk. It was beautiful and the clouds were really high with a clear circle for the moon and Jupiter to shine through, which I thought was nice of them Gave a lovely halo effect too
Lewis
Handed in my assignments this morning! Collected my Bioethics from a couple weeks ago, I got 68 ...2 marks off a First Just walked down the hill into town after my last ever Parasitology lecture and there were 100's of people on the High St singing carols for the light switch on... It's nearly Christmas!
bluekarin
I am looking forward to seeing my friend and her children as they are over here for a month from Australia! She emigrated about 5 years ago now and I have met her eldest child but she has had two more since! Lots of parties have been planned in the next few weeks
