Jennifer Jane
Major disappointment today (as well as having to come back to work of course). We wanted to book the cottage that we always use in the Lake District for a spring break. It is owned by a friend of DH and he texted her yesterday afternoon and she said yes it was available. Then she texted back this morning that unfortunately it is on an online site and had been booked though that in the meantime It was going to be absolutely perfect timing for us, the cottage is wonderful - and now it is back to the drawing board. Never mind, a chance to try a different part of the Lakes. On the plus side, we went to see my brother's puppies yesterday - they are now 3 weeks old and thriving. They look more like little dogs and were play fighting - seriously cute!
patsylabrador
Another murdered soldier in Afghanistan. PBs are horrible places. Brought back nasty memories. Best wishes to anyone who knows anyone serving out there.

Geoid
I had my dermatology appointment today (at long last!), the doctor took one look at me and said I have quite severe eczema (I didn't think it was that bad, it has been a lot worse in the past), prescribed me with some cream and tablets. I have to go to hospital and have a blood test tomorrow.
The Dogmother
I love that... you wait ages for an appointment tell you something you sort of know already oh well, first stage done Fred. Do you have any triggers for your eczema? Mine is made a lot worse by any washes/products containing SLS, avoiding those makes it much better. Geoid
Had a blood test, took forever as they couldn't find a vien in my arm, so had to use the one in my hand instead. Took a lot of blood out as I need a lot of tests doing. As a result, I almost fainted.
Purplemaniacs
Poor you Fred. Hopefully the results will help to imrove your eczema. DD is awful for getting blood out of, last time she needed blood taken they had to use a baby needle, she is 25 Chrissie
chickencam
Best of luck with the tests Fred. My mum can't give blood because they can never find a vein.
The Dogmother
Rosie's are hard to find too, but mine are easy. I can't give blood though as you need to be over 8 stone to do so.
The Dogmother
... aaand Twit of the Yesr Award goes to John McCririck who is suing Ch4 for £3m, claiming that he was axed because of his age.... not because he's a boring, chippy old misogynist then? chickencam
Couldn't have put it better myself. I quite like eccentricity and appreciated his differences many moons ago before I saw his childish self centred behaviour on Celebrity Big Brother. He even pointed out in his interview with Jeremy Vine at lunchtime on Radio 2 that he had been the first to be voted off several celebrity reality shows, does he not take the hint? patsylabrador
ES has gone to Japan again for a short while for snowboarding. I don't like sports where you slide a lot but I'm quite jealous.
patsylabrador
YS came home from work with a swollen, bruised nose. Some lovely member of the public head-butted him. It looks a little wonky but it's been checked by a doctor so probably just the swelling and it just started bleeding. He's been injured so many times now it seems quite an ordinary event. The Dogmother
Rosie had a young lad call for her nice boy, tall and sporty with long hair and those daft trousers that are down around their knees. They've come back here to watch TV, so have apologised for the teeny screen. He and Rosie have been comparing scars but I think that Phil has trumped them with the 12" scar on his rebuilt knee. Lewis
Something to tease Rosie about when I next see her She'll hate that you've told us! Just doing some last minute cramming for my first exam tomorrow! "Emerging technologies..." sounded a really interesting module but its really not. Too many long words talking about things we can't see and that I don't have a practical use for Day 4 of antibiotics and feel better today! Still tickly throat but feel a hundred times better than I did on Thurs!

Geoid
I have had some sort of allergic reaction to these tablets I was prescribed. They have made my eyelids swell up, but the doctor has just called me, and she will see me tomorrow morning.
