patsylabrador
Interesting. So, I wonder if women watch diving for the same reason that men watch beach volleyball.

chickencam
Well done Claire I have spent the day trawling the internet for a suitable 70th birthday present for my very fussy father. It is his birthday on Thursday and I have been waiting for him to tell me what he would like and yesterday he emailed me and said 'a new heart and lungs but failing that use your imagination' which hasn't left me much time. He loves his garden, so I eventually found a list of birthday flowers and the one for his is the pink, so I have ordered 10 assorted pink plants from a specialist grower, I wanted 7, one for each decade but the minimum order was 10. incidentally my birthflower is the mouse eared chickweed aparently
The Dogmother
Guess what we saw on our evening dog walk? A Vietnamese pot bellied pig.... as you do..... Was walking up through North Newington woods with a friend when lads cycling towards us said 'there's a pig up there missus', we ignored them thinking it was a wind-up when we saw this hot, sweaty woman brandishing a bowl of pig pellets and shouting 'Mildred'. 'Don't tell me' I said 'you've lost a pig' we parted, promising to keep our eyes peeled. Further down the hill we came across it, a good quarter of a mile away. I tried to catch or herd it back up towards her but the dogs were going ballistic so we left it contentedly grunting in the long grass. What an evening
Chucky Mama
Sounds like you are trapped in some sort of weird sitcom
The Dogmother
It felt like it if I'm honest, we had a good laugh afterwards but that pig wasn't about to be herded or caught and Ruby was thinking about coursing it
LolaLayla
Mildred is a great name for a pig, I hope her owner eventually managed to catch her. Sounds like you had an interesting walk
Olly
That has reminded me of the joke about the man who was driving one day when a woman driving towards him flashed her lights, wound down her window and shouted 'Pig!'. The man, rather offended, retaliated 'Cow!' and drove on. Round the next bend, he ran into a pig ... Sorry ... couldn't help myself.

The Dogmother
Ali, could be, especially as I hail originally from Hertfordshire, not too far from north London. My mother is Italian but born over here, I don't think we're related to any hairdressers but you never know! 'Dave the Butcher' and I both said it was good that neither of us was on their own or no-one would have believed us!

bluekarin
I never realised that broad bean flowers smelt so nice. I thought I could smell a plant from next door (they have a garden full of beautiful flowers) but no, it was the broad beans I was watering

patsylabrador
My neighbour's little girl came round to show me all her jubilee kit. She's like a little walking, talking union flag. She told me she had a party at school for Queen Eliverbess. BRAD PITT was shopping in Eastcote yesterday. That'll teach me for never going to the shops. I thought I could smell a plant from next door (they have a garden full of beautiful flowers) but no, it was the broad beans I was watering I love the smell of Broad bean flowers, my OH can't smell them at all he thinks I am mad when I rave about them, it must be one of those that not everyone can apreciate. We grow them every year at the allotment, I was weeding the carrots close to them the other night and it was lovely. It was my dad's 70th birthday yesterday and whilst I was on the phone to him my OH had a call on his mobile from my aunty to tell us that my grandad his dad had been taken to hospital following a series of nasty falls. My dad hasn't spoken to his dad who is nearly 93 for about 27 years which has been weird for me especially as I live closer to my grandad and see more of him. The whole thing makes me sad, I am an only child so very torn, it seemed like some weird karma. I am waiting for news on my grandad's condition and will hopefully go and see him later. It is ED's last day of school ever apart from her 5 exams for her A levels, so she has plans for the rest of the day and overnight, but wants to go and see her great grandad too. bluekarin
They seem to smell the most in the evening. I had an amazing array of different bees on them yesterday, dive bombing right by me I hope your grandfather is ok. It is sad when families fall out. My husband fell out with his grandmother several years ago. She still sends cards and I send her a Christmas one, but the kids haven't seen her for years which I do find sad but I understand why he fell out with her. Whilst looking for a recipe to make the Wagammas white chocolate and ginger cheesecake, I came across a comment to a recipe where someone collects shopping lists left on shopping trolleys And after a little bit more looking into this craze, it seems they aren't the only one And, and! there are books you can buy on Amazon which I will have to buy as a loo side book
